There is free parking for 3 cars on the gravel carpark at the front of the house, on the left-hand side. Additional free parking is on the roadside right outside the house. Please note that parking is reserved for guests staying at the Old School House only. Please do not park in the rear carpark, as this is for the sole use of School Cottage and the Old Chapel. We live close by in the village, so we're on hand if you have any questions or need any help. The Old School House is right next to Berkeley Castle, which is still lived in by the Berkeley family. We have the same fabulous unspoiled views over the water-meadows towards the Cotswolds. Berkeley is a very quiet little backwater, yet just ten minutes from Junction 14 M5 and twenty minutes from Cribbs Causeway. Berkeley is just 10 minutes from junctions 13 or 14 of the M5, and is a 30 minute drive to the Cotswolds villages/ Cheltenham or just 20 mins to Bristol Cribbs Causeway. The nearest mainline train stations are Bristol Parkway and Bristol Temple Meads, and the nearest local train station is Cam/Dursley (4 miles away). There are lots of lovely walks in the area, including one going past the Castle meadow and up to our local microbrewery pub, the Salutation in the little hamlet of Ham. There is free off-road gravel parking at the front of the house for 4 cars, and unrestricted free parking on the road in front. The local minibus taxi is Martins, or CJ's taxis for groups of up to 6. Alternatively, there's a taxi rank at Bristol Parkway or Bristol Temple Meads train stations. Please park on the gravel at the front of the house on the left hand side. There are three parking spaces here for the Old School House. If you need any extra parking, please use the free on-street parking opposite the entrance. Please note that the fireplaces in the reception rooms cannot be used. Please respect our neighbours by keeping the volume down after 11pm. If there is a power cut, contact me immediately, as Western Power will text me updates which I can pass on. When the power goes back on, go to the fuse board in the hall cupboard and press the two blue reset buttons to get the power back on in the house. The wifi will reset automatically. You may have to press the flashing red reset button on the boiler for 10 seconds (in the full-height cupboard in the kitchen). From time to time we may need to do unexpected maintenance, and we expect guests to allow the workmen access to the house if necessary.
