Caernarfon and Snowdonia Holiday Chalet-Owl’s Rest
My place is in Gwynedd close to the beach, Caernarfon Castle (a World Heritage site) and the town itself. Snowdonia mountain range, Beddgelert and forest and so much more. You’ll love my place because of the beautiful surroundings and ease of access to many places to suit all tastes. There is an on-site pool open from May (Whit Weekend) to September. The pool has a full time lifeguard. My place is good for couples, walkers, sailors, solo adventurers, business travellers, families and pets. Owl's Rest is homely, peaceful and a really relaxing place to stay. The park has a village atmosphere and an unusual lay out of slate wood and brick homes that are built facing a fishing lake. Owls Rest is one of the more spacious chalets on the site due to the careful thought that has gone into the open plan design. The decking area is substantial and is one of the closest to the water - this makes it feel as if you are floating above the lake which is wonderful when you are sitting on the decking. Another unusual feature is that the chalet gets the sun first thing in the morning and is there all day until late in the evening. The decking at Owl's Rest is a great sun trap. If and when it rains Owl's Rest provides a cosy place to snuggle up, watch films and play the many board games or start a new book. There are also many indoor activities locally to explore in Gwynedd. Just (Hidden by Airbnb) as they are too numerous to list! However, at the chalet there are leaflets that I and other guests have kindly collected. There are more at reception and they are always helpful with directions and local information. All areas of Owl’s Rest are for the exclusive use of our guests. The area around the chalet (170 acres approx) are fabulous to explore. Some areas belong to the Land owners or are given over to the grazing of cattle and sheep, these areas are clearly marked or boundaried. I will sometimes be on the site itself but I am always on the end of the phone This is a very friendly area and those around in our experience have always been willing to help. The reception will always point you in the right direction for the site or surrounding areas. It is open in normal business hours. The on-site shop are also very helpful and are open in low season in normal working hours but in high season very early until late at night. There are numerous taxi firms locally, they get booked up on a Saturday night so it is wise to pre-book on that night. A bus to Caernarfon stops outside the main gate on the opposite side of the road, this service is hourly. There are trains to and from Bangor servicing many areas in the country, this is 6 miles approx from Owl’s Rest. THE WIFI AT THE CHALET DROPS IN AND OUT, however the wifi at the Poolside Bar is quick and efficient. The pool side bar is open in the summer and school holidays every day. At Easter and half terms it opens in the evenings and weekends. The rest of the year it is open at weekends shutting in October. There is a separate space for adults only and a larger area that children are welcome in, this facility along with the pool is a 3 minute walk from Owl's Rest. At this same bar and in the main room there is a cinema screen that streams SKY Sports and a very well stocked bar. This also provides a pub menu and food is served until 9pm. The bar looks out over the pool and the pool itself is open until 7pm. The bar opens until late. The cafe stays open all year round and has a variety of food on offer including Sunday lunch. In the pool season (from whitson to end of August) please bring pool towels. All other linen is supplied at Owls Rest including bath towels.
