Mole Cottage Chalet. Quiet, cosy self contained.

Relax in a quiet, comfortable chalet set in a charming cottage garden. Enjoy sleeping with the absence of street lights, listening to the quiet peaceful Highland night. Our chalet has been recently decorated to make a fresh light space. Our aim is to provide simple, homely comfort so your visit to Drumnadrochit is restful. The super king-size bed, hand made locally, has independent mattresses and duvets with high thread count linen to ensure your comfort. The Chalet, whilst situated in the peaceful Village of Milton, is within 15 minutes walk of the bars, restaurants and shops of Drumnadrochit. There is access close by to the miles of forestry tracks that provide ideal walking and mountain biking. For road cycling we are just off the main Drumnadrochit to Cannich road which accesses a good number of the quieter local cycle routes. Access is through the main garden via the side entrance to our property. You can comfortably sit outside the front of the chalet at a small table reserved for guests to eat and drink or simply relax. The chalet is situated within and over looks our garden. It is in the small traditional village of Milton which provides a pleasant place for a stroll. There is secure storage for bikes and other sports equipment, please ask in advance. As the chalet is in our garden, during school term time we are close at hand should you need us. During school holidays we are sometimes away, but available by phone and have people on hand should you need someone. Milton is a traditional Highland village comprising mainly of the original stone dwellings of the old Mill town. Mole cottage was the Mole Catchers home. Our Chalet is situated in our cottage garden where we grow fruit and vegetables along with flowers in the the warmer months. Milton is a 'dark' village, meaning the street lights go off between midnight and 6am, making it a lovely place to see the vast starry sky's. The chalet makes an ideal base for walkers, cyclists and outdoor enthusiasts being close to the Great Glen Way, the Affric Kintail way and other local forest tracks. There is a local bus to Inverness several times a day that stops just outside. A car will give much more flexibility, Drumnadrochit is an easy 15 minute walk. There is a local taxi service. Some restaurants locally offer a pick up and drop off service. The bed is a super king size. it has two single duvets for your comfort. If you prefer a super king duvet just let us know when you book. As a precaution in these post pandemic times we are taking extra time to disinfect all surfaces, and we allow 72 hours between guests to minimise any risk. Towels and sheets are always washed at high temperatures. Of course we have our usual very high standards!
