Nestled between the Cobscook & Passamaquoddy Bays, Rossport has 3+ miles of private shoreline, 20-foot tide changes twice per day, 100+ acres of fields and trails and has the first sunrise in the USA. On Rossport’s beaches, you can dig and pick your own clams and periwinkles. Rossport Farms has fresh eggs daily, pigs, belted Galloway (Oreo) cows roam the fields and an organic garden growing fresh veggies, herbs, and flowers in the Maine sunshine. Whether your interest is high tides, fresh seafood, hay fields or the Oreo cows, you will find rest and relaxation at Rossport by the Sea. Families, groups and weddings of all sizes are welcome to experience the very best that Down East Maine has to offer. With 18 privately located houses, cottages, and cabins, you are certain to find the right lodging, amenities, and facilities for your needs. So, grab yourself an Adirondack chair, kick off your shoes, and settle in for a beautiful escape from the everyday. Eastport (the easternmost city in the USA) and Down East/ Bold Coast are truly authentic Maine, and many guests return year after year to savor the quiet of Rossport and the hiking, walk the shore and hunt for sea glass and driftwood as well as the incredibly fresh seafood daily. The city of Eastport has the deepest port on the East Coast and is known for its tides and unique natural wonders. The reversing falls near Pembroke churns food to the surface of the water in a rare phenomenon and is a great place to watch for seals, eagles, and whales. You can also find the biggest whirlpool in the western hemisphere, named Old Sow, in the Passamaquoddy Bay. In addition to its natural wonders, you can also find museums dedicated to the tides, art and the local native tribes. Plus, Eastport has some great seafood restaurants and fun festivals including the Eastport Pirate Festival and the Salmon & Seafood Festival. But we won’t blame you if you don’t leave the relaxing grounds of Rossport. So come explore as little or as much as your heart desires.
