The Paddocks is a self isolated, unique newly refurbished stable block. Nestled in the heart of rural Herefordshire it’s set in 4.5 acres of fields with neighbouring farmland. Guests will be surrounded by an abundance of trees, their own half acre grounds and a babbling brook. The Paddocks boasts stunning scenery and is just a 5 minute walk to an award winning foodie pub. A wide range of wildlife can be seen from buzzards, to deer and many garden birds, you really can escape from the world here. Nestled within the fields and woods of the owners land, guests can enjoy a private location with stunning views, a roaring log fire, full-length oak framed windows, perfect for viewing the outside world and spotting wildlife. The Lookout, is the outside area where you can relax and soak up the peaceful setting with a glass of wine, whilst warming toes and roasting marshmallows over your very own fire pit. Finish off the evening with some stargazing in the open Herefordshire skies. It is both perfect for couples wanting to relax in nature and stargaze and for a family break to explore the wild and stay in comfort with our custom built family bunk bed. The bunk can sleep 2 children under 12 only. The outdoor surroundings allow plenty of room for camping should you want to add more guests to your group. The living space is beautifully crafted and open plan with a well-equipped bespoke natural wood kitchen. Characterful touches throughout the building show the love and craft put into it by designers and builders Leah and Chris themselves. From the reclaimed wooden floor boards to the railway sleeper, oak beam windows designed with care and creativity. A stylish wooden clad bathroom provides the ultimate escape to the countryside, along with a little luxury. The grounds are full of wonders such as the bug hotel, den building, and bubbling brooks to build dams in. The Paddocks renovation project was featured in TV show “Cash in the Spare room” on HGTV. The Paddocks is a wifi free zone so you can sit back, relax and enjoy switching off. Access is via the main house gates where you drive past Chris and Leah’s house, following the private track up to the Paddocks. There is a private parking space available at the Paddocks and additional cars can park at the main house. We will be operating a self check in for guests and guests will be able to be self contained during their stay. We are just a message away or a socially distanced chat over the gate. The Paddocks is located in Little Cowarne, a rural pretty little village away from the hustle where a herd of cows trundle by everyday at cow o’ clock! Local shops in Bromyard are 6.5 miles away for provisions. An excellent award winning pub is only 5 minutes walk away, with fantastic locally sourced food. There are lots of interesting footpaths to explore straight from our field and surrounding area or you can simply just soak up the atmosphere of the Paddocks and just “be” rather than “do”. The nearest town, Bromyard is only 6.5 miles. Bromyard hosts many festivals throughout the year including the Folk, Speed, Scarecrow and Nozstock. The Chase Distillery and Wye Valley Brewery are in close by villages and offer tours and tasting sessions. Hereford is a cathedral city that lies on the river wye and is only 25 minutes away and has a good mix of shops and restaurants both chain and independent. The cathedral itself is worth a visit with beautiful stain glass windows and the famous “Mappa Mundi” an illustrated map of the world drawn in 1300 held in the chained library. The market town of Ledbury and historic Leominster are both only 25 mins drive away offering lots of unique shops and Leominster is where the picturesque Black and White Trail begins. A little further on Ludlow is full of pretty unique shops and hosts the food festival. Beautiful Hay on Wye is also under and hour away, with its notorious book shops and literary festival. If you fancy walking the Malvern Hills are 35 mins away and the town offers many shows at the show ground or you can venture to the not to far away Black Mountains or Queenswood Country Park offers a stunning Arboretum closer to home with woodland cafe. There are plenty of places to visit with the kids; Bodenham River is only 20 minutes away where you can wild swim and skim stones, ‘The Fold’ is a stunning lake surrounded by exciting trials to explore and has a farm shop. Queenswood Country Park, as mentioned offers the Gruffalo Trail to explore with beautiful wooden sculptures and plenty of wildlife to spot. Local shops Bromyard- 10/15 min drive Co-op and grocers, bakery and Deli “ Legges” Ledbury- 25 min drive: Aldi, Tesco Hereford- 25 min drive: Waitrose, Asda, Tesco’s Morrison’s There are many beautiful walks around, or cycle on the country lanes. The pub is 5 mins walk but nearby shops require a car. The Three Horseshoes, Little Cowarne is a short walk through the fields or up the road ( 5 mins. ) In light of the current situation and in addition to a very strict cleaning regime, we will provide a ‘cleaning care package’ of extra hand wash, disposable gloves, paper towels and Detol spray and hand sanitiser to ensure your well being is met, should you want to clean high touch areas during your stay. We are taking extra care to sanitize our space. 3G can be accessed outside the Paddocks by the car parking space.
