Self catering rural cottage converted from a pigsty, on one level with private garden and patio. Near Chepstow, Monmouth, Forest of Dean and Wye Valley. Sleeps 2. Fantastic views, local walks, rustic pubs, heritage, history, outdoor active and river activities, cycle tracks, . Enjoy feeding the badgers, birdwatching, spotting wildlife. A peaceful retreat where you can make friends with nature, and the sheep. Each season is wonderful. Relax! Previously a pigsty - all now tastefully renovated. The accommodation comprises one double bedroom, an open plan lounge-diner, and small kitchen. There is a shower room and tiled lobby for muddy boots! The patio has outdoor furniture to relax and capture the last rays of the setting sun. From the patio windows you can watch the badgers, birds and more... The cottage has its own garden and patio, sharing the access driveway to our family house. A dedicated parking area on hard standing is allocated to cottage guests and ther is more space for visitors too We are often around and happy to answer any queries or help with local information. Birdwatchers can add to the growing list of sightings around the cottage, feed the badgers at night and hope to see the deer passing through. With its own patio and garden area you can sit under the oak tree, admire the bluebells and watch the wildlife. With access to a host of outdoor activities set in the lanscape of the Wye Valley and Forest of Dean there are cycle trails, established walking routes and a huge network of local bridlepaths, access to river sports on the River Wye such as kyaking and fishing Oakgrove is within easy reach of Symonds Yat - an internationally famous viewpoint, Tintern Abbey, and Chepstow Castle to name but a few. Further afield but within an hours drive are Cardiff, Bristol, Bath, Cheltenham, Gloucester, Ross and Hereford A car is really a must as we are about a mile from the nearest bus stop, downhill all the way there, and uphill all the way back! Our narrow country lanes (with passing places) make the journey an adventure! For those opting for public transport you would need to get yourself to Chepstow train station, then bus 69 to Brockweir then a 40 minute uphill walk . Or get to Lydney train station where a taxi would be needed. Close to Offa's Dyke footpath, many bridleways, Tintern Abbey, micro-breweries, canoeing from Monmouth or Symonds Yat on the River Wye, Cycle paths and local hire, traditional pubs serving local real ale, gastro pubs, Chepstow castle, fishing, golf. less than an hour away are the cities of Bristol, Bath, Cardiff, Cheltenham, Hereford.
