We are located just 2 minutes from the quiet O'Connell village and the Fish river. You can enjoy local hospitality at the historic O'Connell hotel or relax with a fish river roasters coffee in the Avenue cafe. We are 20 minutes from both Bathurst and Oberon with numerous dining options. Mayfield gardens is a short 15 minute drive and 40 minutes to Jenolan caves. Come take a swim in our solar heated pool and relax by the pool in our comfortable day bed. The accomodation is separate from the main residence with a separate entrance. The bedroom has a queen suite and views out over the rolling paddocks, a bathroom with shower, fully equipped kitchen with microwave, electric cooker, bar fridge and tea and coffee provided. There is a small dining area and a sofa which can be converted for a second sleeping area. A travel cot can be provided if necessary. Guests are welcome to use the solar heated pool on our property, wander around the paddocks or simply sit and enjoy the peace of the countryside. We very much welcome interaction with guests but we are also happy to leave you to enjoy the surrounds peacefully. O'Connell is ideally located for time away to relax and enjoy all that the Central West and Blue Mountains has to offer. In the village of O'Connell you can enjoy some food and beverages at the historic O'Connell Hotel or indulge in Fish River Roasters coffee, cake or lunch at The Avenue Cafe (open Friday, Saturday, Sunday). We are 40 minutes from Jenolan Caves where you can join a tour of the caves, have lunch at the hotel or visit the Blue Lagoon where you could be lucky enough to see platypus. Mayfield Gardens are 15 minutes away with beautiful displays and a great cafe serving breakfast and lunch. Bathurst is a 15 minute drive where you will find numerous cafes and restaurants, The Australian Dinosaur and Fossil Museum and The Motor Racing Museum. As well as hosting the Bathurst 1000 in October, other motor races take place over the year including the Bathurst 12 Hour in February. Bathurst Regional Council hosts a number of community events throughout the year including WinterFest a not to be missed event in July. You will need a car in order to explore the surrounding areas as public transport is not provided around O'Connell All we ask is that you are mindful of the water usage as we use tank water and not to leave taps running unnecessarily.
