Views of stable yard on one side and Somerset moors between here and Glastonbury Tor on the other. Well behaved dogs welcome on leads, please bring your own dog bed and don’t let them go on the furniture. Think glorified camping with a roof over your head. Bedroom with double bed and fold out single camp bed suitable for a child, living room with kitchenette, shower room and conservatory. Garden and patio access with lots of friendly poultry likely to visit. Well behaved dogs (on leads) welcome, please bring their own bed. Plenty of walks from the property and locally. Close to Glastonbury and other tourist attractions. Allergies to straw, horses, dogs, cats, poultry or farmyards inadvisable. Occasional spiders are inevitable! Slow wifi available, TV with dvd no freeview. There are books and games available. Simple cooking facilities including kettle, toaster, hob, small oven and fridge. Warm indoor sink for washing up. There is modest electric heating and a wood stove in each of the two main rooms. We make up the stove for your first night, and are happy to show you how to do it thereafter. Some fuel supplied, though if you want a blazing fire 24/7 you may have to make arrangements separately. NOTE: This is a house made of STRAW BALES!!! In damp weather it can smell a bit musty. Nobody has complained about this (yet!) but it always worries us that this could take guests by surprise. If you are sensitive. allergy-prone or suffer from hay-fever then this may not be for you! There is a large garden and a small covered patio. If you smoke please smoke outside. Thank you. Not wheelchair accessible so not very suitable for the poorly mobile! (Steps, uneven pathways and low outdoor lighting) As much or as little as takes all our fancies. Set in the small hamlet of Bowdens in the heart of the Somerset Levels just a mile from the bustling small town of Langport. Plenty of cafes, a supermarket, petrol station and scenic walks. Close to Glastonbury, home of the Festival, the Tor and Abbey. Street with its outlet shopping at Clarks Village. Yeovil and Taunton for bigger towns and shopping. Cheddar Gorge and Wooky Hole and Wells Cathedral. Plenty of cider farms, willow weaving and cycle routes. Approximately an hour to both the north and south coasts, the Quantocks and Exmoor. Major cities Bristol, Bath and Exeter are also an hour away. You will need either a vehicle, a bike or a sturdy set of legs; public transport is minimal though the 54 bus route stops in Langport (about a mile away) and 376 in Somerton (3 miles away). Taxis are not common here. Trains in Bridgwater, Yeovil, Taunton and Castle Cary. Kitchen and Breakfast: First the kitchen: it isn't! It's a cooking area with basic facilities and utensils and a warm water sink. The kind of thing you'd find at a campsite. Plenty of local restaurants, pubs and take aways are available as alternatives to cooking. Breakfast: DIY, we supply: Kettle, toaster and two-ring hob, small oven/grill and tableware.
