Ghoirtein Bed and Breakfast - ground floor bedroom

Our house is Architect designed with wonderful views over the valley towards Glen Affric and the mountains. We are 4 miles from the very busy town of Drumnadrochit so if you like peace and quiet this is the place to be. The house is situated within 2.5 acres of woodland with a small lochum stocked with fish - not for fishing! We also have 10 hens, 8 ducks and 2 cats. The garden is full of wild life and birds, we have red squirrel, foxes and pine martins. The Bedroom we offer is a good size, thoughtfully furnished and equipped using our knowledge as hoteliers. You can book the Double room for 1 or 2. This room is on the ground floor. We offer a continental breakfast buffet of cereals, toast, croissants or danish pastries and we are happy to offer a boiled egg. Our eggs come from our own chickens which free range in part of the garden. Our check in times are between 5 pm and 8 pm. If you wish to check in earlier then please let me know between 11 am on the day of arrival as we might be going out and not back until 5 pm. If you wish to check in after 8 pm let me know on booking or as soon as possible so that we don't worry about you not arriving. Our latest check in time is 10.30 unless there is an emergency - ie breakdown/accident or traffic jam and as long as you keep us informed we will stay up to meet you. You are more than welcome to explore the garden which is quite wild. We also keep different types of chickens and a few ducks. We are purely a bed and breakfast so do not offer cooking/eating facilities to our guests. We do expect our guests to go out to eat and not bring food back to their rooms and are very happy to make a reservation at a local pub/restaurant for you. We are however happy to heat up milk for an infant if required. We are available during the day, although we might be down the garden or sitting in the boat house - just come and find us. We are happy for our guests to sit in the lounge, balcony or in the garden during the day. During the evening this area is used by us to relax. Ghoirtein is situated in its own grounds and is not overlooked by neighbours, 4 miles from Drumnadrochit making it a very peaceful but easy to access location for people wishing to get away from it all and to explore the beautiful Glens of Affric, Cannick and Strathfarrar. Balnain is accessible by public transport (bus) from Drumnadrochit or Inverness. We would be happy to collect people from Inverness Airport or Drumnadrochit for a small charge. We have plenty of on site safe parking for those arriving by car. We also have two cats - these are not allowed in the guest bedrooms.
