Beautiful Reservoir views, walk to Puffing Billy!

Walking distance to Emerald town centre and Puffing Billy, lots of beautiful walks nearby too. Quiet area with stunning views. This is a self contained 2 bedroomed apartment on the ground floor of our home. It has its own kitchen and bathroom, (there is a shower but no bathtub) living area and small patio with views of the beautiful Cardinia reservoir. Kangaroos often visit the paddock directly opposite and we enjoy a lovely array of wild bird life. You can watch the King Parrots come to feed right outside your window. The main bedroom has a queen size bed with space for a travel cot and/or a trundle single bed, the guest room has a queen bed. Whilst the location is quiet, we do live directly above the apartment and inevitably you will hear footsteps, doors closing or floorboards creaking from time to time. The humans here are mindful to move around quietly but our pets have the occasional lapse. Our three legged wonder dog Loki is prone to falling off the bed so if it sounds like the sky is falling down it’s probably him. Everything you need for a short break is available here, outdoor space to sit and enjoy the view, indoor space to rest and relax. There is Netflix in the living room and free wifi, all free view TV channels, a DVD player and a selection of family friendly dvds are available on request. Extra details like Board games, card games, a selection of books for all ages, jigsaws and some puzzle books and magazines are in the apartment for your use, organic and eco friendly products where possible and fresh local flowers. There are two good sized bedrooms, a bathroom with shower , kitchen/ dining/ living space combined and a patio area to the front of the property. The apartment is equipped with everything you need for a short break. As we live on site we can try to help with anything else you may need or have forgotten. We live above the apartment and can help with local info if needed or leave guests alone to enjoy some peace and quiet if preferred. We are available by email, text or in person during normal hours. It’s very picturesque here and peaceful. The kookaburras may wake you up but you should sleep like a koala in this tranquil location. We have the beautiful reservoir views directly opposite and a short walk from the house you’ll find the town with its various eateries, Emerald bakery and Puffing Billy’s station. You can walk down the road to the Paradise Valley hotel for a drink and a meal, (take a torch for the walk back) or into town in the opposite direction to the Railway Dog bar which offers bar meals and snacks. Both offer live music almost weekends. Take away Thai, Pizza, Chinese and Indian foods are available here, and there are a few good restaurants to eat in, including Elevation and Emerald Thai. If you want to drive ten minutes further into the hills to Belgrave you can visit one of the live music venues there. Plenty of scenic walks, cycle tracks and quaint neighbourhoods to visit, including Kallista, Olinda, Sassafras and surrounds within ten- thirty minutes drive await you. If you want to stay local you can walk easily to the town, bus stop or Puffing Billy train line. If you’re able to drive then you’ll find a world of Hills life to explore. We are approximately one hour’s drive from Melbourne Tullamarine Airport. 45 kms approximately from Melbourne CBD. Belgrave Train station (15 mins drive away) takes you directly into the city in around 50 mins. Free parking at the station. Twenty minutes from us is Fountain Gate shopping mall with too many shops and restaurants to mention, plus bowling alleys and multiplex cinema. The apartment is set up to be comfortable and homely. We have tried to include the essentials we always need on our own travels and will try to provide extra items you may need if you let us know. This isn’t a typical hotel set up. We treat our guests as though they’re family coming to stay in our home. We really appreciate this respect being returned by our guests by leaving things as they found them and treating our home with care during their stay. There are basics like tea, coffee, sugar, olive oil, salt, pepper, detergent, basic cleaning products, shampoo, shower gel, conditioner, hand soap, bath towels, tea towels, dishcloths. In addition, the kitchen is equipped with a sandwich press, toaster, kettle, microwave/oven combo, rice cooker, induction hob, plates, dishes, pans, cutlery, knives, coffee plunger, Dolce Gusto machine- pods supplied, glasses, mugs, small fridge. There is also a Nespresso coffee pod machine and frother. Pods are not supplied for this one and it’s fussy about using the real ones. You’re welcome to bring your own. Hairdryer, ironing board and iron all available in the apartment plus TV with DVD player that offers Netflix, free view channels and other wifi tv possibilities. We have a wide array of dvds for you to use if required and can provide toys and games, books and play things for visiting children if you let us know the relevant age group. Our front garden has a swing set which belongs to our own child and your children are welcome to use it with your supervision. It is not designed or suited to adult weight, children only! The garden cubby is not for guest use. Babysitting may be available, please discuss your needs with me. A single trundle bed is also available if needed. Please discuss prior to arrival to set this up. Please let me know if any beds need to have waterproof protectors fitted for your stay. We always try to prepare the apartment for individual needs. Please let us know in advance if there are specific allergies and dietary needs, specially if things like laundry detergent may be problematic for you and your party.
