Beautiful, private, spacious and comfortable annex in a rural setting with south facing views overlooking unspoilt countryside. Perfect for 2/4 people, the Den features a fully fitted kitchen and dining area downstairs, along with a comfortable lounge and bedroom with 2 single beds and ensuite toilet / shower. The upstairs bedroom boasts a double bed in a large room with built in wardrobes & ensuite toilet / shower. The Den has a private entrance and enclosed patio area, safe for children. The Den is a comfortable, modern living space set amongst nearby fields and woods yet only a short drive from the nearest town. The Den is totally self contained and makes an ideal location for a safe rural holiday during the current pandemic. The kitchen is equipped with an electric cooker / grill / oven, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, pots pans, toaster, kettle and microwave. The breakfast bar has three high stools and the dining table has seating for six. The south facing lounge has a wood burning stove, comfortable sofas and sky tv. The downstairs bedroom, set off the lounge, is equipped with 2 single beds and benefits from a spacious ensuite toilet with electric shower unit which also which connects through to the dining area. The upstairs master bedroom has a double bed in a large room with dual built in wardrobe spaces, one relaxing rocking chair and a large ensuite toilet with electric shower unit. Parking is shared at the front of the property but there is a private gate to the spacious patio area which is fenced for total privacy and security. Towels and hand soap are provided along with shampoo and conditioner. Guest interaction is kept to a minimum. The key shall be left in a key safe at the door. Hand sanitiser is provided beside the key box. We aim to allow you to be totally independent from the start to the end of your stay, however if you need anything we are just next door. The accommodation is cleaned thoroughly after every guest, including all handles hard surfaces, and utensils. The Den is set on the outskirts of the conservation village of Gavinton, a short 5 minute drive from the nearest town of Duns. The immediate area is perfect for long countryside walks and there is a nearby church and woods to explore. Duns has grocery shops, butchers, pharmacy, newsagents, fishmongers, cafes, bars and restaurants. The Jim Clark museum (recently remodelled and re-opened) and Duns Castle (with surrounding walking and cycling routes and duck ponds) are notable attractions. The surrounding area is a haven for game fishing and shooting, golf, cycling, hiking or nature watching. The Den is only 50 minutes south of Edinburgh, and 25 minutes north of Berwick Upon Tweed (the nearest train station). Galashiels is 30 minutes away. There is a local bus service running to Galashiels and Berwick Upon Tweed, and a local taxi (booking in advance required) is also available.
