Set on the banks of the Panamaram River, about 10km from Kuruva Island, Talking Trees is a working-farm stay skirted by paddy fields and plantations. Go for an invigorating dip in the river, take a leisurely stroll, or cycle amidst an idyllic village backdrop. The exact opposite of a commercial resort, this is where you come for delicious home-cooked food, warm hospitality, and a super-relaxed rustic atmosphere. There is hot water, cable TV, and high-speed Wi-Fi in case you need to work online. Set in an open, quiet and secluded private property, Talking Trees offers you easy river access and a serene village atmosphere interspersed with bird sounds, cows mooing in the distance, and the occasional tractor doing its thing. Surrounded by paddy fields and banana plantations, there is also a small farm with free-range chicken, goats and cows - our source of fresh milk and eggs. The hosts stay on site, and with a total of just four rooms, Talking Trees pampers you with a very personal experience. Relax at your own leisurely pace, or we can suggest local spots for trekking and sightseeing. Guided village walks, plantation visits, and off-site ayurvedic massages are available on request, and subject to availability. Free parking is available inside the property. You can walk or cycle around the neighbourhood, but you'll need a car to get to popular sightseeing spots. Please note the last 0.5km to Talking Trees is untarred, but easily accessible by all cars. I'll be available throughout your stay, along with the caretaker. Talking Trees is set in a small, sleepy little village. A handful of local farmers live in the vicinity, which is mostly plantations and paddy fields. On-site parking is free. You will need to have a vehicle to reach the site. You can get around locally with a cycle or a vehicle. This is a livelihood for us and many local people we source food from, and employ for services. We strive to keep this a simple and personal affair with utmost attention to our guests. No smoking in the room please, there are designated areas just outside. Kindly be a responsible traveller and be mindful of other guests at the property. Help us keep the premises clean by not littering - there are separate waste bins in the room and bathroom. Breakfast is complimentary. Lunch and dinner are extra, priced at ₹350 per head per meal (vegetarian) and ₹400 per head per meal (non-vegetarian). Tea/coffee is ₹25 per cup. If you're bringing a driver along, they will be charged separately for meals and stay. We're pet-friendly, but please note there is a charge of ₹1000 for pets (for the entire stay, excluding food) as all the sheets and linen have to be dry cleaned.
