The Barn In Riverhead

The Barn is situated behind one of the Mill workers cottages in the heart of Riverhead on half an acre yard of beautiful gardens and mature trees. Roaming the property you will see our friendly free range chooks and a Swedish Vallhund - Xena! You will hear Xena on arrival. Also situated on the property away from the Barn is a beehive which supplies a very tasty raw honey. You will feel like you are in the heart of the forest, surrounded by native trees (even our very own Kauri), and with native birds (Kereru, Piwakawaka and Tui to name a few) frequenting the property, you will find The Barn a relaxing and peaceful place to spend time away. The Barn is completely detached from the cottage to ensure a private quiet space. Recently converted into a dwelling with two levels and covered outside decking area. The Barn has all new appliances, recycled Rimu flooring and a wood burner for the cold winter nights. The warming, comfortable and contemporary interior will have you feeling like you are right where you need to be in your very own Barn away from home! Complimentary freshly baked sourdough bread with preserves and honey when given advance notice. (Two night minmum) Portacot available. We are a five minute walk to the Historical Riverhead Tavern which The Red Boat Company runs daily cruises to from the CBD. The Riverhead forest is close by with lots of walking/cycling tracks. The local Coatesville Market is on the first Sunday of the month 10.00 am to 2.00 pm all year expect January (rain or shine) it is about a seven minute drive away. The Catalina Bay Farmers Market is on every Saturday and Sunday 8.30am to 2.00pm approximately a 20 minute drive away at Hobsonville Point. A 20 minute drive through Kumeu and Waimauku will take you to Muriwai Beach & Woodhill Forest. North West Shopping Mall is also a seven minute drive and Albany Shopping Mall is around 15 minutes away. Boric Food Market is the place to buy fresh produce grown in its own onsite orchard and gardens only a five minute drive away. Hallertau Brewery is only a couple of kms down the highway, this is one of the many great places to eat and have a drink within a few minutes walk. Along with plenty of amazing vineyards and fine dining spots only a short drive away!
