For those who love the sea, but like a quiet space to relax in away from the crowds and take in the beautiful nature this area has to offer. The self catering apartment is nestled in amongst cinnamon fields and jungle at the end of a residential road in Hikkaduwa. A short scooter ride or pleasant stroll to the beach. One of four celf-catering properties on the same site. The apartment is equipped with.. Fitted kitchen- fridge freezer, gas hob and sink with all utensils, large breakfast bar with seating on terrace. Ac/fan bedroom with: desk and chair, large four-poster bed with mosquito net and wardrobe for clothes storage. Bathroom with: Hot water bath/shower, sink and towel rail/towels. It is an amazing wildlife-spotting area so you can lie-back and watch the monkeys, birds and chipmunks. In addition to this we have now opened up our adjoining garden for guests to access our plunge pool! This is one of 4 apartments which are all slightly different- Bamboo, Jackfruit, Kurundu and Kittul. If you are travelling as a group there is a possibility of booking all four as a discounted block so please let us know if interested. We can arrange transfers, scooter hire or tuk tuks. Amila is a surf instructor and enjoys teaching our guests! Please note that these apartments are designed for 2 adults sharing rather than families. For that reason amongst others, we only consider taking children and infants in certain circumstances where we think it can work. Please consult with us before booking if you're travelling with a child, thank you. Guests have full access to the garden, and plunge pool area (until 10pm each night). We live on-site and will be available whenever (reasonably) needed-we love meeting new people! We will happily provide any information you need on the area and arrange transport/tours if requested, but our main aim is to make you feel comfortable in your own space. Independent travellers are our favourite! Hikkaduwa is famous for its surf, nature and watersports. You can swim with turtles, learn to surf, Paddleboard on the nearby lagoon and see an abundance of wildlife only a short distance from our doorstep. Seafood (and food generally) is fantastic here-very fresh and we can show you the fish and fruit markets to help you with any supplies you need. If you are here to fully relax and unwind you can try some authentic Ayuevedic treatments including massage and cleanses nearby. The apartment is just off Narigama road, a short journey from Hikkaduwa town and beaches. It takes around 15 minutes to walk to the beach, past paddy fields and local homes and shops. We recommend hiring a scooter or bicycle for your comfort getting around in the heat. We can arrange transport from the airport or station, help with scooter or bicycle hire, and our very friendly neighbour has a tuk tuk (number provided during your stay) Hikkaduwa is about 20 minutes tuk tuk/bus ride from Galle which is well worth a visit, and is accessible by regular buses and trains from Colombo. We provide towels but please don't take them to the beach-we now have sarongs in each room for this purpose. During high season Sri Lanka often suffers from droughts..we are lucky enough to have a well so aren't affected when the water is turned off locally, but ask that our guests are thoughtful of their water consumption and don't use more than necessary. For this reason we try to be mindful ourselves and not replace towels etc too frequently during your stay-the laundry uses a lot of resources. Also, this is a leafy, green area so please don't be surprised if leaving your doors or windows open leads to insects or geckos entering the room! Leaving food on surfaces quickly attracts ants so please avoid taking food into the bedroom. Working remotely? Please note we provide wifi but unfortunately it has a download limit and can be slow at times, so it is best used for general browsing rather than large downloads/streaming. It's best that you get a mini router and local SIM for better wifi, thank you! *please note* Due to the ongoing situation with gas shortages in Sri Lanka, it's often hard to replace gas bottles, please be patient with us at this time as we will always do our best to source replacements for you.
