History abounds in The Old Mill Cottage. Originally built in around 1700, it was part of a silk mill and oozes period features, with stone mullion windows and wooden beams. Old Mill Cottage can sleep up to four guests, this country bolthole has been finished to a high standard with a warm and inviting interior and an array of modern facilities including Superfast WiFi, TV and a well-equipped kitchen. There is designated outdoor seating area and off-street parking on the shared driveway. This sunny, south facing accommodation comprises of a romantic double bedroom with Woodburner (for cosy Winter evenings), lounge with sofa bed and TV, kitchen with everything you need for a short stay. At the bottom of the valley runs the old Severn and Thames canal, which provides lovely walks, as does the Wysis way which runs through the village. The Cotswolds Way is also close by. Badminton and Gatcombe horse trial events are a short distance away. As we are remote, transport is essential (bike or car), however, there is a daily bus to Stroud (route 8B) or you can take a 15-minute taxi ride. Trains run regularly between Stroud and London Paddington with a journey time of around 1 hour 20 minutes. The cottage is located in a narrow lane, so no HGV's!
