Luxury French Country Farmhouse with Pool

Luxurious and spacious French Farmhouse in stunning and sunny South West France. Mas de Gardou is our French holiday home, which we have lovingly restored and decorated in classic French style. With large swimming pool in over 2 acres of private gardens. The grounds extend to 2.25 acres and include a field, a boules court, three separate garden areas plus a small private courtyard we call the secret garden that catches the last sun of the day - ideal for your evening aperitif. One area is a children's paradise with an extra large trampoline and football nets. The pool area is nothing short of stunning, with sofas, sun loungers, dining table, another bbq and a second hammock and a firepit! The ping pong table can also be found there. We provide several inflatables for the pool. Should you need any other entertainment on site we have playing cards, a basketball net, cricket set and dart board and even rugby balls and a tackle bag! You can of course use the various bikes and scooters we store in the garage. We will be available via phone, email, (Hidden by Airbnb) should you need us. Our home is one of a few in a small hamlet surrounded by other villages. It is private and not overlooked- the perfect country escape. The property is secluded but not remote. The picturesque medieval town of Caylus is a short drive away ( 10 mins) for shopping, restaurants etc. An amazing barn restaurant is a leisurely half hour stroll through fields in one direction, and a local bar an equal stroll through the countryside a in the other direction. During the holidays periods ,Easter, summer ( particularly from July 14th, Bastille Day until late August) there are numerous local festivals, fairs, fireworks displays, and ( our favourite) communal village meals/ gourmet night markets where hundreds of locals, holiday home owners and tourists enjoy a meal together with music and wine for a handful of euros ( something that our french friends from other parts of the country tell us is unique to the south west- lucky us)! The region is a foodies idea of heaven. We rarely visit a supermarket, we shop as the locals do, buying bread from our favourite bakery, meat from our favourite butcher ( as seen on the Jaimie Oliver TV programme), and our fruit and vegetables and wonderful cheeses from the many outdoor markets in the area ( which are a wonderful way of experiencing the true french lifestyle). We are also close to breathtakingly beautiful and historic sites, including St Cirq Lapopie ( regularly named the most beautiful place in France) the vineyards of Cahors and Gaillac and the vibrant city of Toulouse just one hour away. The international airport there as well as smaller airports at Rodez ( 1 hour ) and Bergerac (2 hours 15) make Gardou very accessible. Every type of sport and activity is within easy reach from golf to canoeing and from cycling ( The Tour de France passes through the area) to horseriding. The area makes a wonderful base from which to explore SW France and also the Basque Country and Northern Spain. The international airport there as well as smaller airports at Rodez ( 1 hour ) and Bergerac (2 hours 15) make Gardou very accessible. A car would be required.
