Set over 3 floors, Alpha Cottage is perfect for couples and families. It sleeps up to 4. Village location with walks from the door. Incl. Robin Hoods Bay beach 20 mins (1 mile), Cleveland Way & Cinder Track. Just 2 min walk away is the Fylingdales Inn, Thorpe Stores, Barnards Bakery, bus stop & childrens park. Whitby is a 10 min drive/bus ride away, or walk there on coast paths. Fast WIFI Self check-in (via keylock) On-street parking Sleeping: Two bedrooms give sleeping space for 4 people - one double bed, two single beds. The double bed in on the 1st floor, a skip, jump and hop to the bathroom. The attic room (2nd floor) has two single beds and views across Fylingthorpe towards the sea. The bathroom has a shower over the bath. Eating: There is a small but perfectly formed kitchen, equipped with microwave, cooker and dishwasher. Work and Play: Fast WIFI. TV and DVDs / DVD player. General: The cottage is attached to Alpha House (also a holiday let - please enquire if you wish to hire both), and is completely self contained with its own entrance. There is a short footpath in front of the small courtyard space that we share. The cottage has full central heating. Bedding and bathroom towels (one per person) are provided. Please bring your own beach towels. A washing machine is located under the stairs. Parking is on-street and throughout Fylingthorpe. A parking space outside the cottage is not guaranteed but one close by is very likely. Please be aware that there are steps up to the cottage from the road and the cottage is set over three levels. Children should not be left unattended. Lower nightly rates for stays of 5 days or more (automatically adjusted when selecting dates), alternatively please contact us before making your booking. You can access all parts of the cottage, as outlined on the the layout plan. Alpha Cottage is attached to Alpha House (our other holiday let = please enquire for more details. You can book both and sleep up to 9+1). Alpha Cottage overlooks the garden of Alpha House. The cottage is completely self contained. We work from home in one of the outbuildings to the side of the cottage. There is a key lock available to enable you to access the cottage easily and flexibly. We live locally and should there be any problems we can be on hand. Set in the North York Moors National park, an area of superb countryside and coast, Alpha Cottage is the perfect base for walking and cycling, or just enjoying being beside the sea. Located in Fylingthorpe, from this peaceful village, you can walk to the beach at Robin Hoods Bay, take in fabulous views walking along the coastal path (Cleveland Way) or cycling along the Cinder Track (the old railway line) towards Whitby or Ravenscar. All this is minutes from your door. Enjoy the seaside town of Whitby, the surrounding villages or moorland, all within easy reach by car, cycle or public transport (X93 Bus). Robin Hoods Bay, a quaint little fishing village, is located about a mile from the cottage. An easy walk there. Wander through the narrow streets and passages, enjoying the tea shops, gift shops and pubs. Explore rock pools, make sand sculptures, find fossils and jet or just paddle in the sea. Whitby is famous for Captain James Cook and Dracula, its Abbey and Whitby Jet. Board a boat trip, catch some surf and sand, or meander through the cobbled streets and treat yourself to a piece of Whitby Jet jewellery. You are surrounded by the beautiful North York Moors, steeped in history and with magnificent views, explore villages, market towns, jump aboard a steam train and follow in the cycle tracks of the "Tour de Yorkshire". Amenities within Fylingthorpe and a few mins walk from the cottage, include a village store, butcher / bakers, play area and a public house. More amenities can be found down the road at Robin Hoods Bay. The X93 bus route passes through the village, travelling along the coastline to Whitby and beyond, or to Scarborough. There is also a taxi firm in Robin Hoods Bay. Local Supermarkets are in Whitby: - the nearest is Sainsburys on the main road into Whitby from Fylingthorpe YO22 4NL. Open: Mon-Sat 8am–10pm, Sun 10am-4pm. Petrol station open daily 7am – 11pm. It is about 10 mins drive from the cottage Also Lidl on Stakesby Road in Whitby, YO21 1HS and a CO-OP food store in Whitby town centre, YO21 1DH. We don't have a cash point in the village - but both stores and the post office in Robin Hoods Bay will give cashback. - Parking is on-street and throughout Fylingthorpe. A parking space outside the cottage is not guaranteed but one close by is very likely. - Access and layout: there are steps up to the cottage and into the property. The cottage has three levels. This may make it not suitable for people who have difficulty climbing steps. Children should not be left unattended. Please see layout plan and photos. - There is no cash point in the village. The nearest cash point is at Sainsburys in Whitby. Thorpe Stores - the village shop (at the end of the road) and Barnards, Bakers/Butchers (turn right at the bottom of the road) both do cash back. As does the Post Office in Robin Hoods Bay. - This is a 'self catering' holiday cottage. - Original artwork in the cottage. This can be purchased at the cottage and through our website Yorkshire Coasting.
