The area is also one of the most hip and vibrant parts of Stockholm and even Sweden, located right by Nytorget, aka the café and cultural centrum of Stockholm's artsy elite. The Vitabergsparken is massive, and has an outdoor amphitheatre, a gazebo, a playground, and plenty of trees and alcoves with BBQ grills and picnic tables. There are always friends, couples and families relaxing here, and the park echoes with laughter - but there's always room to put down a blanket and have your own little square of peace and quiet. Vitabergsparken is definitely a go-to spot for picnics, fika, playing games like Swedish 'kubb', and also big events like birthday celebrations and of course Midsummer. The park is also famous for its amphitheatre which is used frequently for the outside Summer Theatre series, with plays, ballet, and poetry onstage multiple nights a week. Medborgarplatsen and Skanstull is at the center of it all and offer everything from classic dining places to shopping at the vibrant Götgatan. Only a short walk and you end up at Slussen and Old town with the beautiful view of the Stockholm archipelago. In short; the apartment has a very attractive location where all the necessary services as well as opportunities for shopping, entertainment and access to beautiful nature are within easy reach. Restaurants There is a wide range of restaurants around the corner from the apartment. At Södermalm, there are plenty of well-established restaurants and the district is constantly subject to new food concepts. The district is home to a number of mentioned restaurants and cafes such as Nook, Indio Kitchen, Cafe Nizza, Punk Royale, Tjoget and Cafe Pom & Flora. At Nytorget, about a 5 minute walk from the apartment, is the well-known Urban Deli which is a concept grocery store, market hall and restaurant all in one. Next door to Urban Deli is the renowned restaurant Nytorget 6, which is part of the respected restaurant chain, Bockholmengruppen. Nytorget is also one of Södermalm's main meeting places and is one of Stockholm's most popular squares to visit. Nytorget consists of a smaller park and is surrounded by vibrant attractions such as a number of trendy shops, cafes, bars and restaurants. At Medborgarplatsen, about a 15 minute walk from the apartment, you will find Söderhallarna, a meeting place with restaurants, shops and a classic market hall that offers wide range of delicacies. Culture Södermalm has one of Stockholm's and even Sweden's richest cultural life with a large number of museums and theaters. The Photographic Museum (Fotografiska Museet) is one of the world's largest collection sites for modern photography and close to Slussen you will find the Stockholm City Museum (Stadsmuseet). A stone's throw from the property is also the Orion Theater and the Göta Lejon Theater is also within a short walking distance from the apartment. The connections to Stockholm's inner city are great with a subway station (Medborgarplatsen) located a 3 minute walk from the apartment and bus stations are even closer by. At the same time, the Ring's shopping center is located at a short distance which offers everything from great supermarkets, nice boutiques, a medical center, cool restaurants and lunch shops. The nearest grocery store is ICA, located just a short walk from the property. In the immediate area there are also a number of popular cafés, shops and restaurants. Parking Facilities Parking is available on surrounding streets and within the block there are a number of parking machines where you pay for the parking hourly or per 24 hour. With respect to neighbors and families in the building, there is a strict policy that no parties/events or smoking is allowed. The walls are paper-thin and so no loud music/noise allowed after 22.00 and only confirmed guests are allowed in the apartment. In the unfortunate event of misconduct, the booking can be canceled so please respect the home and neighbors :-)
