You will be 27km (17miles) away from the city of Angoulême (Comic Book Festival) and Cognac – where you can discover the finest houses of that famous brandy. Many activities are offered in this region as well as for adults or children ! And in particular during the Summer holidays in the surrounding villages where you can enjoy kayaking, canoeing, horse-riding, yoga, fencing, archery, cooking... music festivals, open-air cinemas, shows. Look up on the Internet ''Ete actif'' in Charente. Rustic bicycles are to find on site if you wish to go for a ride and make the most of the lovely evening light. You will have the opportunity to find very good local produce at the Aigre and Rouillac markets (7km – 4miles). You will be at an 1hour and a half drive from the Atlantic Ocean (Royan, Ile de Ré, La Rochelle). For those who like to cook, help yourself in the garden for aromatic herbs (bay, rosemary, sage, mint) to flavour your meals. During your strolls, depending on the season you will find delicious wild plums and blackberries. If you come from the UK or by train, you can take the Eurostar from London to Paris and then take a train (TGV) from Paris to Angoulême. By plane, you can land in Bordeaux or Poitiers. You will be situated in a very quiet and small village, with friendly neighbours where everyone knows each other. You can park your vehicles in front of the house in the indicated area.
