On the shores of a secluded loch with private gardens and woodlands. Surrounded by walking and biking trails. Incredible trout fishing, bird watching, teeming with native wildlife. Less than a mile to the train that runs between Glasgow and Edinburgh. Siberian log cabin with hand hewn timbers. Taste of Canada in the Scottish countryside. Self catering, but basic groceries and a coffee bar provided. Self contained log home. Private garden, patio and hot tub. Lake and property access. Extensive parking. We live in the main house right next door. We are happy to help you out whenever you need a hand or to leave you alone if that is your preference. We do all the landscaping ourselves, so you will occasionally see us in the gardens doing maintenance or watering the hanging baskets. The loch is stocked with trout. There is a fishing club lochside that can provide licenses, equipment and boats for a fee. Caldercruix rail station is less than a mile away and has direct service to both Glasgow and Edinburgh city centres. Journeys are less than 45 minutes. Local restaurant and grocery deliveries are available. Essentials available in the village. If you are going to stay close or travel exclusively between Glasgow and Edinburgh, you can easily manage using the train and taxi services. We are within an hour’s drive of Lanark, Falkirk, Stirling, and many other historic locations. So if you are using Willowmere as a base, we highly recommend having a vehicle.
