Our house is situated on the edge of the quiet hamlet of St Martin, nestled in the Corbières hills in the Languedoc. The farmhouse has been sensitively restored and decorated in traditional style, providing comfortable accommodation for 8 people. Lovely old farmhouse in the unspoilt foothills of the Pyrenees. Great walking country.Close to beautiful villages, vineyards and Cathar castles. 1 hour from Med. beaches, 2 hours from Spain. A real 'get away from it all'. Spacious living areas, two double and two twin bedrooms and a cot. Large secure private garden and woods. Sunny terraces with loungers and BBQ. Tranquil safe bathing in river pools 10 minute walk. 10 minute drive from Lagrasse, one of the 'plus beau' villages of France with ancient cobbled streets and houses, restaurants, bars, galleries and market etc. It's still possible to experience the peace and quiet of old rural France in an area unspoilt by tourism, but don't tell everyone. 45 minutes from Carcassonne airport, or 1 hour from Perpignan or Beziers, 1 hr 30 mins from Toulouse, 2 hours from Girona. Visit the bustling Wednesday morning street market in Lezignan-Corbieres for wonderful fresh food. Explore the history of Carcassonne, Narbonne and the Cathars . Cool off in the river or laze on the vast sandy Mediterranean beaches.
