The Old Dairy Cottage

A fully equipped, private and quaint, stone dairy building which has been converted to a guest cottage on a 60 acre beef cattle farm at the edge of the rainforest. This unique accommodation is located on an organic beef farm only 10 minutes from the historic town of Yarram with it's specialty shops, numerous cafes, antique shops, and more. Our property is located in the beautiful Gippsland region of Victoria. We are very close to many of the areas most beautiful attractions including Tarra Bulga Rainforest with it's stunning waterfalls and walking trails, the famous 90 Mile Beach, world class golf, fishing, boating, hiking, horse riding and bike trails, historic sea ports, the amazing and recently restored Welshpool Long Jetty, Gippslands' famous lakes, wineries, trash 'n treasure and craft markets, numerous historic townships and an easy day trip to and from the world renowned Wilsons Promontory National Park.(URL HIDDEN)Amid all this you will find a very private, quaint and beautifully restored, old dairy which has been converted into guest accommodation. Full of character, decorated with antique furniture pieces, many fascinating collectables and interesting artworks, the cottage was once a working dairy and much of the decor has been chosen to reflect the history of the building. Fully self contained, the cottage comprises a large, fully equipped kitchen and dining area with all utensils and appliances. The large living room with a huge amount of reading material and popular DVD's overlooks the surrounding picturesque farmland. The living room has 4 sofas, two of which easily convert to 4 separate king single beds as required. The queen bedroom boasts beautiful views and an antique wardrobe and dresser providing storage for longer stays. The second bedroom, although small, consists of lovely antique furniture including a king single bed. The queen bed has an electric blanket, alll beds have comfortable, quality mattresses and pure merino wool doonas. The beds are made up with beautiful Laura Ashley linens, lots of cushions and handmade antique quilts. A quality Porta-Cot is provided for babies, (please bring your own cot linen and pillow). The bathroom consists of a standard sized glass shower recess, large vanity unit and a separate toilet. All linens and towels, (as well as beach towels) are provided. A daily breakfast comprising of a delicious variety of mostly organic, home made, home grown and locally produced food items is included in the cost for our short stay guests (less than 1 week. For an extra cost this service can be provided to our longer staying guests). For breakfast we provide fresh organic eggs, organic and additive free, sour dough bread, butter, a selection of home made jams, farm fresh milk, coffee, tea and herbal teas and filtered water. We also supply fresh fruits and berries from our farm when in season. Using the large picnic basket provided, our guests are able to take a packed meal to one of the nearby beaches or rainforest for breakfast or lunch or dinner! An outdoor BBQ is also provided at the cottage and we can supply organic, tender beef from our own farm at a very competitive price as required. We are happy to welcome well behaved pets of all kinds and horses. A safe, easily accessible paddock close to the cottage is available for your horses if required. Laundry facilities are available in nearby Yarram along with 2 fantastic pubs, cafes, restaurants, bakeries, a beautifully restored, historic theatre, specialty shops and all services. Internet service is available at the cottage via your Telstra mobile, and also at most cafes, pubs and at the local library in Yarram. Be sure to bring your Netflix password, which will enable you to access your Netflix account on our large, flat screen TV! A qualified Beauty Therapist is available to provide all Day Spa services if required "in house" at the Old Dairy Cottage. Booking for this service is essential prior to your stay, however appointments booked at short notice will be accepted if times are available. Entire cottage and surrounding area. We will be available by phone 24 hours, and can come to the cottage at any time during your stay to attend to your needs when and if required.
