Enjoy local festive attractions including Bath as it sparkles with lights & the streets are filled with festive spirit; Longleat as Christmas magic sparkles around the park including Britain's biggest singing tree; or enjoy sparkling tunnels of lights, dancing reflections and trees drenched in colour at Stourhead. Orchard Barn is a recently converted, red brick & stone barn with private parking directly outside. The barn sleeps five: there are two large bedrooms with comfy zip and link super king beds - so spacious & comfortable and made up with luxurious white bed linens; these beds can be made up as twins or super kings. There is also a pull out small single bed in one of the rooms. Each bedroom has it's own beautiful ensuite bathroom; one with a large walk in shower and the other with a large double ended bath with shower attachment and bath caddy to hold your wine while you soak! The barn has a large social open plan living/dining/kitchen area with fully fitted kitchen with granite works surfaces & Bosch appliances, beautiful log burner for cosy nights in, large 'smart' TV and large sliding picture doors to your garden and countryside beyond. Beautifully tiled floors, vaulted ceilings with original beams are throughout as is the underfloor heating and wifi. Outside in the private garden area there is a table where you can sit, eat & drink plus a couple of comfortable occasional chairs, a Weber charcoal BBQ & implements in summer and a firepit. Beyond you are welcome to make use of the hammock, picnic table and bench in the orchard - you choose whether you want shade or sunshine. You may also use the grass field which provides plenty of space for kids & adults to run & play games. The setting is very peaceful and other than our house & farm buildings you are surrounded by fields, tucked away where you can completely relax and unwind. Depending on the time of day sit quietly in the garden and watch & listen for birds swooping, deer, owls calling, squirrels, pheasants, moorhens and many more. From our field the stars at night, away from light pollution, are just beautiful and over the years we have watched (at certain times of year) shooting stars lying on a rug in the middle of it! We are ideally located between Bath, Stonehenge, Salisbury and Stourhead to explore the surrounding area with Longleat right on our doorstep. If looking for a more relaxing holiday there are lots of country walks from the door. We are also in a great location for both road cycling and mountain biking and can safely store bikes for you if you request and help you with route planning and ideas for cafe or pub stops! The barn is our guest annexe for family & friends but is fully self contained and not overlooked by our house. Orchard Barn and it's garden are for you to enjoy. You are also welcome to use the orchard and grass field beyond. We are usually able to store bikes if you wish to bring them - please do check in advance. Whether you are into doing nothing, cycling, walking, shopping, exploring or whatever; this property and its location ticks all the boxes. Once booked I will send you a document with lots of ideas of where to visit, activities to do, places to eat out etc., to help you plan your stay and make the most of your stay. The barn has it's own entrance and you can park several cars close to it. You are completely private and are not overlooked and you are welcome to use our large orchard & field in addition to the barn's garden. We are in the house behind and are happy to help with anything including tips on lovely walks and pubs/ restaurants etc. Country walks, a village shop, farm shop and village pub are all right on your door step in walking distance; and a short drive away M & S food, other supermarkets, pubs etc., We are in the centre of an area where there are a multitude of things to do and are happy to advise you. We are easily accessible by car from the M4 or M3/A303. There are direct train links from Westbury or Trowbridge to London which can take just over an hour. Although there are buses through the village and train stations close by at Westbury and Trowbridge as a rural location we would suggest that a car is required if you wish to access all there is to see and do in the surrounding area. We are on a working arable farm and want to ensure that guests are aware of this as it does mean at certain times of the year, reflecting the farming season, that there may be tractors & machinery moving through the farm yard. Most people see this as part of the attraction of staying on a working farm. In our rules we state that it is not a party venue, this includes Hen Parties and Stags, we also ask that only the number of guests booked stay. We hope that you enjoy the outside space and just ask that there is no loud music outside after 10.30pm.
