Charming stone villa with garden

This traditional stone house is an island getaway in the true sense of the word. 50m from the crystal sea, along a narrow street you will come to an idyllic holiday home that is facing a stone walled garden and picturesque terrace. The little villa has recently been restored whilst preserving the original décor to offer a perfectly balanced mix of old with all the modern amenities. The interior and garden are decorated with antiques preserved over the years. These have been carefully placed to tell you the story of our heritage and to keep intact the picturesque style set over the centuries. The villa can sleep up to 6 people. This old stone holiday home consists of two double bedrooms, a living room, separate kitchen and bathroom. The bedrooms have double beds and are big enough to put an extra single bed and crib. The living room has a fireplace and satellite TV. The kitchen is equipped with a stove, sink, refrigerator and all the necessary cooking and dining utensils. The bathroom has a shower, sink, toilet and separate boiler. The house is facing a stone walled garden and terrace covered by a lattice of grapes. The garden is full of lemons, oranges and aleksandrines (a sort of mandarin typical from this island). On the terrace overlooking the quaint garden and typical water well there is a marble table, summer kitchen and stone barbecue. The house has air-conditioning. Electricity is 220V 50Hz. Tap water is safe to drink. We provide sufficient linens, pillows, blankets, bath towels and kitchen towels. We change the bed linen twice a week. The house is professionally cleaned before guest arrival. Villa Tete Mare is situated in a quiet narrow stone alleyway in the middle on the western bay called Igalo. The Villa is a five minute walk from the centre of Lopud and its harbour with direct connections to Dubrovnik and other Elaphiti islands. The well-known sand beach Šunj located on the island's south eastern bay is a mere twenty minutes away by foot. The closest beach is less than 100m away. Guests have access to the terrace and garden directly from the Villa. The garden has a unique special charm with Meditteranean vegetation and flowers which provide shade and silence, ideal for a rest in the afternoon after a hot day on the beach or an evening barbecue! We want our guests to feel comfortable and at peace in our beautiful home. We live on the island in another house and can easily be reached on the ground floor of Villa Birimisa. If in doubt, ask any local where to find the Bogdanovic family. Between us we speak English, Italian, French, Spanish and Swedish! Lopud is the only village situated alongside the north-western bay of the island bearing its same name. Because of its vast cultural heritage and legacy of historical monuments and relics, Lopud became a seaside resort as early as the 1900s. Since then little has changed, and Lopud is today its own world, surrounded by the calm blue of the Mediterranean, an oasis far from the stress of modern life. It remains an island free of cars, so small in fact that its area is easily covered by foot, yet big enough for one to find peace and solitude; connected to the entire world, or, conversely, isolated from everything… Blessed with mild Mediterranean climate Lopud boasts a maze of pathways which uncover landscapes of dense vegetation as well as vineyards, olive groves and rural fields that stretch to the ample sand beaches and cliffs bathing in a crystal clear sea. Besides the proverbial sun and sea, find serenity or seek adventure in long strolls, scuba diving, fishing, canoeing, water-skiing, sailing, and the exploration of vast monuments, or simply enjoy sampling the delicious local cuisine. And should Lopud become too small, its position is ideal for excursions to neighbouring islands or Dubrovnik itself. A regular ferry line connects the Elaphiti islands to port Gruz - Dubrovnik. Lopud is 7nm from port Gruz. Journey time is 45 minutes by ferry, 20min by speedboat from Dubrovnik and 5min by speedboat from the closest point on mainland (Brsecine). On the island everything is within walking distance. Electric golf carts operate along the bay and connect one side of the island to the other for a very small fee.
