Light, spacious townhouse spread out over three floors with modern styling and bags of personality. The house is warm and toasty and set out for your comfort. We are located in a quiet part of Watchet and just a short 5 minute walk to the Town. Enjoy the delights of the Pebbles Tavern, with live music and excellent cider; try the local fish and chips or take a ride on a steam train, which runs from Minehead to Bishops Lydeard. The coastline is famous for fossils and spectacular walks As well as parking being available via the garage, there are two shared visitor spaces used by us and neighbours and we have an allocated parking space in the West Street car park across the road. generally available most days from 8am to 10pm. The town is perfectly situated for visitors to explore Somerset and Exmoor. Watchet is a quiet and charming town steeped in heritage from the early Viking invaders to it's more recent past as a key harbour town for trade in the Bristol channel. Watchet is the town that inspired poet Samuel Coleridge to write 'The Rime of the Ancient Mariner'. Watchet harbour is now a converted marina offering all the latest facilities. If you're a bird watcher, walker or bucket and spade person the county of Somerset has everything for you. Check out the beaches at Blue Anchor and the Victorian seaside town of Minehead. For the kids there is Doniford Farm and Tropiquaria with lots to see and do including fossil hunting along the Jurassic coastline. For those who prefer the history, check out Watchet Boat and Maritime Museum and the Market House museum that takes you on the journey through the town’s mineral and harbour background. Once here, check out the schedule of Steam trains (or diesel) for that vintage experience of travel. Local buses are available from the town going to Taunton and Minehead. We put some walking maps (OS) in the property so people can walk the coastal path network or if you fancy a drive out why not explore Porlock, have afternoon team in the garden at Watersmeet, which is a National Trust property in Lynton and Lynmouth. If you fancy horse riding then head to Burrowhayes Farm and take a trip over Exmoor. There really is something for everyone. We even have our own town crier. Getting to Watchet is easy. Take the A39 from junction 23 of M5 and follow the signs to Minehead. Pass through the towns of Bridgwater and Nether Stowey and stop off to see Samuel Coleridges' cottage on your way through. There are several cafes and a local Co-op supermarket in the town, which also has a cash-point machine inside plus the town has a chemist, post-office, an art gallery and a local butchers. Pretty much everything you need just within walking distance. Recently the town has converted the local bus stop to become a Book Stop where you can pick up a book and read at your leisure as you watch the world go by. If you don't know what to do with your holiday read, kindly donate it to the Book Stop, which can be found next door to the Maritime museum.
