LA PASTOURELLE BY THE LAKE – FISHING AND NATURE IN A WILD AND EXCLUSIVE SETTING Experience the charm of La Pastourelle; its attention to detail (entirely restored 2018), along with the peace and beauty of this wild, protected and private location, offers total relaxation. The 18th Century, traditional stone, Morvandelle house, its sunbathed terrace, faces its own lake and sits within the 7 hectares of park and forest on the domaine of the old Auberge des Brizards. Experience the charm of the wonderful domaine of the old Auberge des Brizards; set in a truly peaceful, wildly beautiful, protected and private location, offering total relaxation from the pressures of modern life. Formerly renowned as a gastronomic hideaway with a clientele of politicians, celebrities and the Auxerre football team who would regularly come to get in shape before a big match. Today, the domaine comprising the old inn and the pretty cottage known as La Pastourelle; has re-found the calm of yesteryear and is an idyllic place for privacy, total relaxation and reconnecting with nature. On summer nights, you will be amazed by the silence and clarity of the starry sky that can be fully appreciated in this quiet and protected place. We can accept a maximum of two adults and two children. Guests will have a private entrance, La Pastourelle is a detached stone cottage and guests will have complete privacy and access to the house and the 7 hectares of private park, forest and lakes. You will be greeted by the owner personally upon your arrival. We will be there to make your visit as pleasant as possible whilst respecting your privacy. There are many wonderful walks and hikes. A 40 minute walk, through the forest takes you to The Abbey of La Pierre Qui Vire – a working monastery where you can taste their excellent organic produce. The lake of Saint Agnan, with its lovely tranquil and private beaches, nestling in the Morvan forest, is close by. Avallon, is a 30 minutes drive and offers a great choice of activities for the more adventurous: PaintBall, Quad biking, Karting, Zip wire/Accrobranche, Segway, Rafting, canoeing , kayak, rock climbing... and why not appreciate the Morvan and the vineyards of Chablis in a hot air balloon for a truly unforgettable experience? Places to visit: *La Maison du Parc with its museums, hiking circuits and interactive programmes to discover the history, flora and fauna of the Morvan. *The large lakes of the Morvan - all beautiful and different and offering recreational water activities *The Archeological site of Bibracte (Celtic) *The classified site of the Gouloux waterfall *The gorges de Narvau - waterfall, rock climbing and hiking circuits There is plenty of free parking at the Auberge des Brizards No public transport and a car is therefore necessary Ideal for families and couples, La Pastourelle will enchant you and will be your cozy pied à terre to discover this authentic corner of Burgundy. Relax by your private lake, swim or fish.... in the evening, enjoy the ambience of the log fire or a BBQ on the terrace.... For larger groups, the beautiful Auberge des Brizards is available to rent.
