THE SPACE The property was carefully converted into a family home by your hosts. The same family has lived in this village since the 17th century. The home is filled with interesting furniture, paintings, drawings, photos, and crafts. A terrace covered with antique tiles provides an ideal spot for outdoor meals. It overlooks the pool and gardens and has a great view of the countryside beyond. The warmth of the village, the charm of the countryside, and the history of this family dwelling combined make it an ideal retreat as well as a base for exploring the many cultural and historical aspects of Languedoc. THE HOUSE From the covered stone terrace where you will enjoy taking all of your meals, one oversees down below both gardens where a variety of flowers abounds, the 11m x 5m swimming pool surrounded by a granite large edge, a great pool house and, in the distance for miles around, the countryside of vineyards, olive groves, and fields. Right at the edge of the terrace a sofa awaits you for an afternoon nap. Read a magazine or a novel, or simply admire the surrounding countryside! Les Oliviers accommodates up to 10 guests in comfort. TESTIMONIALS "I do dislike using superlatives but I must say that the week of September 28th through October 5th last, was one of the happiest, most enjoyable and definitely the most memorable of my life. This was a result of our one week stay at Les Oliviers."    "We could not have chosen a more perfect and harmonious spot for our vacation.    The Villa itself was roomy, airy and exquisitely decorated. Each wall in the house was interesting with it’s own unique story to tell. The great patio overlooked lovely gardens, an inviting pool, vineyards with abundant views. It was perfect for an afternoon cocktail or a nightcap after a lovely dinner at one of the town’s fine restaurants. The charming little town of Cesseras in Languedoc is in one of the more inspiring regions I’ve visited in France. Much different from the hustle and bustle of Provence. The town is surrounded by gorgeous landscapes, high culture, Cathar's history, art, wineries and fine dining. Every morning we drove a few KM to Olonzac, a neighboring  town, to enjoy a coffee at the "Cafe de la Poste", a favorite gathering place of the locals." "During our week at Les Olivers, we were blessed with the perfect Mediterranean weather. We were also a short hop away from several picturesque towns such as Carcassonne, Narbonne, and others, so we were able to enjoy most of them. Reminiscing makes me want to relive these experiences. As I said, our week at the magnificent "Les Oliviers" was the most enjoyable and the most memorable vacation in my life." GUEST ACCESS Full access to the house. INTERACTION WITH GUESTS There is a housekeeper/guardian who lives right across the house & is available from 7am - 7pm for all your needs.          THE NEIGHBORHOOD Les Oliviers is a good base to explore many historical places, wine cellars, surrounding villages, and visit the nearby seashores of the Mediterranean. Attractions in the area. The village of Minerve, 7km from "Les Oliviers", was a strategic Cathars point and an important stopover for the pilgrims on their way to Santiago de Compostella in Spain during the Medieval times. It was also the home of Simon de Montfort. Fontfroide's Abbey, one of France's most visited Abbeys is located at just 25km away. Carcassonne, the largest and best-kept Medieval Castle in the world, seen in a number of International films, is a definite must for anyone staying in our area. The town of Carcassonne also deserves a visit. The Canal du Midi wanders around the town's edge. The covered market should not be missed while an eighteen-hole golf course awaits the real aficionados. Other things to note.
