The Painted House - Chateaunuf Sur Charente. Ideally located next to a beautiful park and two blocks from the city centre, the house was built in the nineteenth century and became the residence of M. Paul Rousseau who was a painter and interior designer. He used it as a gallery to display his talents. Paul Rousseau´s décor dates from about 1909. This two bedroom gîte has on ground floor an open plan lounge, kitchen and dining room area. On the first floor, there are two bedrooms; one bedroom has a double bed, the second has two single beds and one bathroom. Communal areas are: heated Swimming pool, Court yard, Parking area, BBQ facilities. As a guest, you will have exclusive use of the cottage for the duration of your stay, while enjoying the best of what Chateauneuf Sur Charente has to offer. We meet and greet all new arrivals and we live in the main house of the property. Châteauneuf-sur-Charente is a commune in the Charente department in southwestern France. Former capital of the canton, it is with Cognac and Jarnac, one of the three towns situated in the heart of the Charente vineyards. The town has all the facilities, as you can imagine. Charente epitomizes traditional rural France, is an area of natural beauty and lush with vegetation. The whole area is laced with rivers and streams that feed into the picturesque River Charente. With a laidback character it is a good holiday destination in France, visitors here can certainly find time for lots of leisurely pursuits. The house is 3 minutes driving from the Train station, same distance for the last station and next to the property there are lots of free parking areas . And a parking on promises as well.
