Secret slice of heaven by the river

Our 200 years old renovated house is in a scenic valley 20 minutes drive from the airport. River running through the big private garden makes it a unique chill place that you share with butterflies, birds and sounds of the river. You can enjoy lazy days in the hammock in the shade, or have a barbecue. And yet, in half hour drive you reach Ljubljana, Slovenian capital, lake of Bled or Kranj. There are numerous hiking possibilities in the surrounding mountains and 2 lakes just 15 min away. The house is nested between the local road and the river. It is perfect for a couple, two couples or a family and can host up to 4 persons in 2 bedrooms. We can add a smaller bed for children (70x160 cm) upon request or arrange one sofa bed in the living room. You have the whole house and the garden all to yourself. On the ground floor there are living room with dining area, fire-place and cozy sofa, smaller bedroom, a small kitchen (with big character though) and a bathroom with a tub. On the 1st floor is master bedroom with big bed, relaxing reading corner and walk in wardrobe. Guests have access to most of the house (kitchen, living room with dining area, bathroom, one bedroom /for up to 2 persons/ or two bedrooms /for more than 2 persons) and will be alone in the house and in the big garden hidden even from the neighbours' eyes. You have private access to the river, a terrace in front of the house with nice views of the forest and the river, and relaxing area with a swing, hammock, long chair and pick-nick table in the garden. You can use the herbs and spices from our herbs garden as well. There is complimentary entrance card for visit to the famous Brdo Estate during your stay. We compiled a booklet with some must-see places you can visit in Slovenia during your stay. We live some half an hour drive from the house. While we are away our friend Urša will take good care of you. She knows where to go to avoid tourist places and she can help you find known and famous but also secret treasures of Slovenia. Our village is the longest village in Slovenia so you will have enough privacy. The valley is very scenic, on some places only a few meters wide with steep river bank. There is a lot of nature around, the house is surrounded by forest, river bank and a road to Jezersko. Birds, butterflies, fireflies, even heron or ducks are regular day-time visitors to our garden and the river. Occasionally the neighbor's cat comes to visit as well. In the night you can expect deer, fox, and if you are lucky even a badger or a weasel. But don't worry, they are all harmless and will run away when they see you. There are neighbors next door who also have a pub and you can arrange home-cooked meals with them. A lot of hiking options close by. Our guests also receive one free entrance to the Brdo Estate. There is public transport but having a car is a better option. There are two lakes (Preddvor lake and Jezersko lake) just 15 minutes drive away, 40 minutes to Ljubljana old town or a good hour to famous Postojna Cave. Just an hour and a half drive away is the coast where you can plunge into the sea. COVID-19. We take your health very seriously. We are commited to Airbnb cleaning protocol. The whole house will be disinfected before your arrival with effective biodegradable and environment friendly disinfectant officially tested for viruses (including Corona viruses) and bacteria. Please contact us regarding current restrictions. Bedrooms. The house has 2 bedrooms. The second bedroom is available when reservation is made for 3 or 4 guests. Tourist Tax. According to Slovenian law we are obliged to collect tourist & promotion tax which is in the municipality of Preddvor 2 EUR per person per night (50% for children aged 7-18 and free of charge for younger children). We collect tourist tax at check-in. Fireplace. For the use of the fireplace, hybrid pellet&wood stove, we collect 100 EUR deposit and 50 EUR for the use of the fireplace at check-in. This includes 1 bag of pellets, wood and cleaning of the stove. In case of no damage full deposit (100EUR) is returned at check-out.
