Coachmans Cottage is one of 10 self catering holiday cottages. It sleeps 2 people in a double bedroom and has a log burning stove. Facilities at Triscombe include an indoor heated swimming pool and games room. Central Exmoor location and close to towns including Minehead and Dulverton, lots of picturesque local villages, and local attractions. Electricity paid by meter reading, charged at cost 20p/unit. Free Internet Access. Towels currently not provided. Triscombe Farm is situated in Exmoor National Park within its own valley location. The 10 self catering cottages are in a hamlet-like environment and are mostly converted farm buildings. We are 1 mile away from Wheddon Cross and 10 miles away from Minehead. We are centrally located in Exmoor National Park, ideal for walkers and those looking to explore the area, whilst still being close to nearby towns and villages. Wheddon Cross is the highest village on Exmoor and is close to Dunkery Beacon, the highest point on Exmoor. On a clear day from Dunkery Beacon, you can see for miles around, to Wales and all of the surrounding countryside. There are plenty of places to visit in the area regardless of your interests, whether you want to have an active holiday with watersports, visit National Trust properties, visit family attractions or simply enjoy time away from home. Information about a large number of attractions and places to visit is provided in our online guidebook. The swimming pool is open all year around and we have a booking system in place to ensure social distancing and fair usage of the pool. The link for booking will be sent to guests prior to arrival. Please note that we are awaiting new updated photos of the cottages so the photos currently on this listing are pre-covid19 adaptations. We have removed non-essential items including cushions, bed throws and books. We have been accredited by Visit Britain and the AA as being a Covid-Secure holiday destination. Wall-mounted touch-free soap and hand sanitiser dispensers have been installed in each cottage. *single household bookings only until 17th May 2021 (date dependent on Government roadmap)* Coachmans is a private self-contained cottage, with access only given to the guests staying in the cottage. We have an emergency key to the cottage which is only used if we need to gain access in an emergency. The swimming pool, games room and gardens are all shared areas, shared only with other guests staying on site and occasional family use. We will be on hand to check you in and available throughout your stay to answer any questions you may have. We live in a different building on site so you are able to have your own space. Contact phone numbers (landline and mobile) for us will be provided on arrival. Check-ins between 5-8pm are preferred, however later arrivals can be accommodated. Please contact us to discuss arrangements. On arrival, temperatures of all guests in your group will be taken with a non-contact thermometer, with all persons involved wearing face masks. If any temperatures are high after several readings, we will ask all guests on your group to self-isolate in your cottage and to take a Covid-test as soon as possible as a precaution. We also ask that all guests bring a face-mask, hand sanitiser and anti-bacterial wipes and have these with you when you are out in the community. Triscombe is a rural protected National Park location just off the main A396. The village is a mile away & Minehead, Dulverton, the nearest towns, are approximately 20 minutes drive away. There are several good pubs & restaurants in the area as well as tourist attractions but all requiring your own transport due to infrequent public transport. Exmoor National Park is an amazing place with plenty of everything! Moorland walks, stunning views across to Wales, coastal walks and towns, and plenty of towns and villages to explore. A car is necessary to make the most of our location as public transport is quite irregular. There are 9 other self catering cottages on site. We do not accept pets as we are a livestock farm but we do have 3 Labradors called Velvet, Bracken and Max (trained to stay away from animals) as well two farm cats called Jake (Black and white male cat) and Mitzi (Tabby female) so please be aware that animals live on site. They are all very friendly so feel free to say hello! Please note that while the listing says towels are included as part of the essentials, we currently do not provide towels as part of the tariff. Guests will also be required to bring their own tea towels and oven gloves. Bedding can be provided but will be in plastic-wrapped bags placed on beds rather than beds made up before guest arrival, to reduce the risk of virus transmission. Guests are also welcome to bring their own bedding if this would make you feel more comfortable. We have upgraded our pillows to those of the same standard as those used by the NHS and in care-homes for guest peace-of-mind. Electricity is charged at 20p/unit to guests during their stay. This is to allow guests to have more control over the cost of their stay and to reduce the risk of electricity being used unnecessarily. The tariff is priced to reflect the additional charge of electricity. Payment is preferable either through AirBnB as an additional service, or as a separate bank transfer. We are leaving a 24+ hour period between departures and arrivals to ensure that your cottage is as Covid-secure as possible and to reduce the risk of viral transmission. As part of our enhanced cleaning procedure, we will be using a fogging machine and dry steam cleaner in addition to thoroughly wiping down all surfaces and touch points with viral disinfectant to the specified government standard. We now request that our guests ensure that they maintain at least 1/2 a tank of fuel in their vehicle. This is for peace of mind should guests need to return home unexpectedly. The majority of our guests to date since 1997 have been responsible and respectful of others. We do not anticipate that there will be any issues, but in the unforeseen event that anyone and their party needs to return home due to Covid-19, we will provide enough packed food and drinks to get them from the accommodation to their own home without the need to stop en-route. Should re-fuelling en-route be required, we will phone ahead to an appropriate garage and arrange for your car to be refuelled without you needing to leave the vehicle. You will need to make payment by card over the phone. This pledge is to allow you to have peace-of-mind during your stay.
