Situated at the end of a small hamlet, next door to Stourhead - perfect for a private wander around the Gardens after hours - surrounded by thousands of acres of woodlands, this is a perfect and peaceful country getaway. Ideal for visiting Longleat; Bath; Sherborne; Salisbury etc. Visitors always remark on how spacious the apartment is - with a large floor area and high ceilings. It features a large living room, with a dining table; tv etc. The main bedroom is enormous with a lovely large comfortable king sized bed as well as a single bed. The second bedroom has two full sized single beds. Light and airy eat in kitchen with all normal cooking appliances. Amazing views of surrounding valleys from every window. Roomy bathroom with overhead shower and screen as well as an additional separate wc. Plenty of room for everyone! New carpets and floorings throughout. Spacious sun terrace with outdoor table and chairs - a real sun trap in the evenings. There is a separate entrance to the flat on the opposite side to the main house so that guests can come and go as they please. There is a stone staircase to reach the flat of approx 12 steps but the flat itself is on one floor - ideal for toddlers! Guests have full use of a large, private roof terrace immediately outside their front door. Off road parking is available for 2 cars. The apartment is unlocked on arrival, and contact with the hosts can be minimal. The owners live next door to the apartment (but are totally separate) and will be delighted to assist with any enquires including recommendations for nearby attractions, walks, pubs and restaurants. Please note that the number of guests on the Airbnb invoice are the number that we are expecting and you must check in advance before allowing additional people to stay at the property. This may incur an additional charge. Local attractions include Stourhead House and the world famous Gardens, the Hauser and Worth Gallery in Bruton (excellent restaurants); Salisbury with its spectacular Cathedral. We are within easy reach of areas such as Longleat Safari Park, the Georgian City of Bath, the Jurassic Coast, Sherborne, Stonehenge and many gardens. There is an excellent farm shop in the village and several traditional country pubs only a short drive away. We are surrounded by hundreds of acres of unspoilt woodland, ideal for walking or cycling - even for little people! We are located 15 minutes from Gillingham Dorset train station on a well served line between London Waterloo and Exeter. Castle Cary station on the Paddington line is 25 minutes away. Car rental is available locally in Gillingham. Well behaved pets are allowed by prior arrangement. Please ensure that you bring all their requirements - eg food and water bowls; towel to dry them; bed etc. Pets are not permitted on the furniture in the apartment. Maximum occupancy is five, not including any children under the age of two. We do have a certain amount of childcare equipment - various high chairs and a cot etc.
