In fact, the so called fjord is a submerged river canyon of the disintegrated Bokelj River which used to run from the high mountain plateaus of Mount Orjen. The bay has been inhabited since antiquity and has some well preserved medieval towns. Kotor, Risan, Tivat, Perast and Herceg Novi, along with their natural surroundings, are major tourist attractions. Strp located a short drive from Risan and Kotor - both nice towns with great markets. Hiking up Subra is a must and hiking along the ridge above Kotor bay is spectacular. A nice way to relax after busy active days is with a nice long cocktail at Tramontana followed by dinner at Konoba Catovica Mlini...its really tasty and has been well reviewed by Lonely Planet, Fodors, World Top 7 Please note that our house is positioned on a small hill, 40 meters away from the sea. the staircase between the house 1st and the 2nd floor is external.
