Away from the hustle and bustle of the city, Rotokauwau farm-stay is perfect for those wanting a country experience. Guests stay in a secluded three bedroom cottage and can expect to wake up to silence and tranquility broken only by the sound of native birds calling and cows munching. The farm is owned by a family partnership. Extensive environmental work has been done over the last few years. Guests are welcome to help out on the farm by prior arrangement. Lake Rotokauwau farm-stay is situated on a working farm. It is on an elevated site overlooking the Okau Valley and Lake Rotokauwau. The accommodation includes three spacious bedrooms, a lounge, kitchen, laundry, shower and inside toilet. For the more adventurous, there is an outside flush toilet with views over the farm. Guest can also enjoy the elevated deck with views over the valley. Close by are - Tongaporutu, famous for scenic beaches, swimming and fishing, and the Three Sisters rock formation. The popular Pukatea Hill Horse Treks are just over the road. Whitecliffs Walkway, Mount Damper Falls walk and Mohakatino Falls walk. Closest cafe/take-away/grocery shop is at Mokau approximately 30 minutes drive. Mokau Museum and Art Gallery. The closest petrol station is at Awakino. New Plymouth, which boasts a number of cultural, sporting, and family activities is an hour's drive away.
