Holiday maisonette "Alte Trotte"

The holiday maisonette "Alte Trotte" was refurnished 2019 in a listed timber-framed house from 1719. On the ground floor, you will find the kitchen, a dining room and a bathroom. On the first floor, there is a cosy living room, and a charming bedroom on the second floor. Suitable for 2 adults or 2 adults with 2 children. The "Alte Trotte" is located between "Seestrasse" and Lake Zurich (guests can use private access to the lake). Close to the railway station. Parking is included. At the entrance of the holiday maisonette, you will find a seating area (table and 4 chairs), which means you can eat outside (at ground level, as the kitchen). The seating area might be used by other tenants of the "Trotte" building as well. The kitchen is fully equipped with oven, ceramic cooking surface, coffee machine, kettle, fondue dishes and other kitchenware. Unfortunately, there was no space left for a microwave and a dishwasher - but during holidays, one has time to cook and wash the dishes together ;-) In the bathroom (with shower), you can hang up your laundry if necessary. You may use the private access to the lake, where you can take a bath in the evening. At the lake, there is no sandy beach but "only" a terrace at the boathouse with a permanently installed bathing ladder. The entrance is not suitable for non-swimmers or children and adults who are not swimming safely. For non-swimmers (and others as well), the public bath in Feldbach (called "Badi") is very well suited. And, by the way, very good fish dishes are offered there. The bedroom on the 2nd floor of the holiday maisonette has a double bed (2 mattresses, 80x190cm each, on slatted frame). Additionally, in a corner under the roof above the double bed, there are 2 other mattresses 80x190cm (without slatted frame). These can be reached via a ladder and are suitable for (not too young) children or teenagers. This makes the holiday maisonette suitable for 2 adults or 2 adults with up to 2 children or teenagers. Bed linen, bathroom and kitchen linen is provided. The whole annex of the "Alte Trotte" is the holiday maisonette - all 3 floors. The stairs are of a special space-saving design (see photo). If used without haste, they are no problem for children and adults. However, they can be difficult for people with walking disabilities. We are happy to hand over the holiday maisonette personally if possible and are also available to answer any questions you may have. Part of the "Oberhaushof" is the B&B Oberhaushof and a seed development enterprise, which also uses the land of the farm ("Getreidezüchtung Peter Kunz"). In the "Trotte" building (to which the holiday maisonette "Alte Trotte" is attached), there are 5 rental apartments. Around Feldbach, there are wonderful walking, hiking and cycling routes, e.g. the "Alte Landstrasse", which leads from the railway station Feldbach west to Ürikon with great panoramic views. And the "Badi" Feldbach (which also rents out pedalos), 10 minutes away from the "Alte Trotte" by foot, is beautifully situated at the likeside. The access by public transport is very good. The S7 train to Zurich runs every 30 minutes (30 minutes drive on a beautiful route along Lake Zurich) The S7 train in the opposite direction goes to Rapperswil (10 minutes drive). The train station is about a 5-minute walk away from the holiday maisonette. Also, there is a bus every 30 minutes to Hombrechtikon. The parking lot Nr. 4 is the one for the holiday maisonette "Alte Trotte" To present Zurich with its old town and the long lakeside promenades, shopping opportunities and cultural offerings would mean to carry water into the Rhine (a German proverb meaning that it is absolutely superfluous) ... Rapperswil has a beautiful old town as well, and a charming harbour area to promenade and spend time in one of the countless cafés, bars or restaurants. If you like to go shopping, Rapperswil is also worth a trip! For children, a visit to Knie's Kinderzoo (children's zoo) in Rapperswil is a must. In the wider surroundings of Feldbach, you can discover islands (Ufenau, Lützelau), hills and mountains (Bachtel, Etzel and - somewhat further away - Säntis and Rigi), museums (countless), experiences (Alpamare, a public adventure bath in Pfäffikon SZ just on the other side of the lake), steam trains (DVZO), rope parks, boat trips (also with steam ships), ... The holiday maisonette "Alte Trotte" is suitable for up to 3 adults or 2 adults with up to 2 children or teenagers. The holiday maisonette is equipped with a complete kitchen. But if you fancy a buffet breakfast: We also offer breakfast, in the warm season in the beautiful breakfast room in the garden and in winter in the washhouse. This costs CHF 14 per person. Children up to 12 years are free of charge together with adult guests. Breakfast can be served from 08:00 to 10:00 - other times on request. If you are interested, just approach the hosts!
