Country cottage with private woodland and orchard.

Our beautiful beamed cottage, complete with log burner, is set in a private ancient woodland, in Royal Forest of Dean near River Wye. The garden path leads down to a secluded orchard which is a haven for birds, deer and other wildlife. The cottage is located in a quiet country lane, with countryside walks to the local award winning pub (The Ostrich Inn) and town. We are close to all ammenities, cycle trails, river activities and the best of what the Forest of Dean and Wye Valley has to offer. We follow Airbnb's detailed sanitising clean after every stay. The cottage is unique, you can see the stars uninterupted by light pollution. Sleep surrounded by music from our resident Tawny Owls with their new family! View the 29 species of birds recorded whilst having a picnic in our secluded orchard. Walk to the nearby award winning 12C inn and experience excellent food, log fire and a warm welcome. When the owls have gone to bed listen to the ........silence! Guests have access to the garden, private woodland and orchard for picnics and bbqs. There is parking for up to 6 cars and the driveway is semi-circular so you can drive in and out! We appreciate your need for privacy, however, if you forget anything, need local advice/knowledge please dont hesitate to ask. We want you to have a enjoyable time. Our little country lane is the type that hangs bunting in the lane for birthdays and when the snow is thigh deep will turn out and make sure everyone has everything they need. If you get lost the're there to help! Excellent restaurants: The Ostrich Inn, The Saracens Head, The Tudor Farmhouse are all very nearby. There is a 15 min walk into the little town centre which has a cinema, artisan bakery, deli, gift shops, restaurants and take-aways. Forest attractions such as Puzzle Wood and Clearwell Caves are just a couple of miles away. Pedalabikeaway, the Sculpture Trail, Symonds Yat, Canoeing and River Cruises are all within a 3 miles away. From the cottage you can walk the countryside and river for miles, stopping for a bite to eat at one of the many quaint pubs along the way. Our local town is 15 minutes walk away through a tree lined pathway. The local taxi services are reliable and very reasonable If you are bringing an extra member of the family such as your dog or cat and you plan at some point to leave them indoors 'On Their Own', we simply ask that you bring and use their crate and their ususual snuggly bedding to go inside.
