The Cottage is a renovated, traditional Sussex styled white weather-boarded cottage that’s perfectly located for coastal or rural breaks, close to the 1066 Country Walk and historical town of Rye and trendy seaside town of Hastings and near by St Leonards. Inside the Cottage has been beautifully renovated and refurbished in a contemporary Scandinavian style. A large, light and spacious single-storey cottage that sleeps up to five people in three good sized bedrooms. There is a master bedroom with double bed, a twin room with 2 single beds and a single bedroom. We also provide a free travel cot and highchair for young children. The bedrooms are all supplied with crisp, white cotton linen, duvet, bath towels and a hair dryer. The bathroom is wood panelled with a white bathroom suite, electric power shower and heated towel rail. We have a selection of DVDs, board games and books for younger children, WiFi throughout the cottage, and if you want a cosy evening in front of a roaring fire, a basket of logs are supplied for the wood-burning stove. The kitchen is fully equipped to self cater with cooker, hob, large fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, microwave and all the equipment from a tea pot to a pizza slicer. Guests have access to the whole property, including a pretty secluded garden with plenty of space for picnics and children to play in. We also provide free off-road parking for up to 2 cars, accessed from the garden. I'm always available by phone or email if I'm unable to greet you in person. The cottage adjoins 660 acres of the High Weald, an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, that includes a dramatic coastline, 5km of cliffs to explore and the 1066 Country Walk, all on your doorstep. Rye, Hastings, St Leonards, Battle, Camber Sands and Winchelsea are all within easy reach. Closer to the cottage the nearest beach is at Pett Level, a lovely 20-minute walk away. A well-stocked farm shop, butchers and two village pubs (one selling the local craft ale, Curious) are also within walking distance. Nearest train stations are Hasting and Rye. The cottage is off the main A259, regular buses run between Hastings and Rye . There are local taxis too. The high speed rail service from London St Pancras to Ashford (and Paris) is 35 minutes away by car. Car hire is available in Ashford. The cottage attracts local birdlife into the garden for a morning bath and a late afternoon feed. A grand peacock and geese can be spotted in the adjacent parkland and lakes.
