Idyllic Escape In Legendary Gascony

Accommodation is for 4 adults and 3 children set in a beautifully secluded location on the top of a low hill, the accommodation consists of 2 large bell tents on 2 decks, with superb views. The owners live in a barn about 100 meters from the tents, out of view, providing privacy. The tents are both new for 2022 and are furnished Breakfast is not included. A fully equipped kitchen is available. The tents sit on raised decks, one with a large veranda, looking SW down a rural valley. The nearest neighbour is one km away providing peace and tranquility. You will be the only guests. This is not a camp site. Both tents have a queen sized (160x200cm) bed. There is a dedicated outdoor screened shower and changing room with two wash basins, toilet and washroom below the owners apartment. A large shared fully equipped summer kitchen ( with dedicated guest’s fridge and freezer) and beautiful pool / terrace, with seating, dining tables, BBQ area and all necessary amenities. WiFi is available here. There is a 12 meter salt water swimming pool. I have listed this for 4 adults only. If you have children or additional adults please contact me directly to discuss as up to 3 may be accommodated on additional beds at a small extra charge. Smoking in or around the tents is forbidden Guests are free to roam around the one hectare garden, use the pool, terrace and summer kitchen. All that I ask is that the space is respected and no glass or china is used around the pool. Ample acrylic glasses and dinner are available for guest use. The owner will be on site during your stay to provide advice, assistance and support as necessary. Should your require groceries on arrival, please contact the owner. The summer kitchen is equipped with the basics, tea , coffee etcetera. Lupiac village, 5km from the acommodation is where D’Artagnian the leader of the musketeers was born. Every August a festival is held in the village. The surrounding area has several small towns featuring festivals throughout the summer period. Vic Fezensac has several supermarkets for all culinary needs and an excellent Friday market. Belmont has a small shop for basic amenities, Lupiac has a small Tuesday market for the basics. The area has many Caves for Armagnac, wine, Floc de Gascogne and is the centre of Fois Gras production in France. Confit de canard is freely available and every bar and restaurant serves beautiful duck at very reasonable rates. The Gers, or Midi Pyrenees is on the doorstep of the Pyrenees mountains. Which are 60 minutes away by car. The Spanish border is 2 hours by car for tax efficient shopping. There are plenty full walks available in a surrounding area at any difficulties. Set in beautiful countryside, a car is needed to travel any distance, however the area is fantastic for walking and cycling. The Tour de France has passed through Belmont village, 2km from the tent over recent years. The host runs an e-Bike rentals business for a relaxed explore of the region. Please check with the host for availability. The Pyrenees are one hour drive away and the Nationwide routes de D’Artagnian originate in Lupiac. Auch the main town centre in the Gers, is 45 minutes by car. A train is available from here to Toulouse and onwards via TGV. France wide. Buses run between Auch and Vic Fezensac however a taxi ride from Auch to Lupiac would be preferable. Please contact the owner regarding private transfer between Auch and the accommodation. The host also operates e-Bike rentals. If you are interested in a relaxing way of exploring the region please check with the host for availability. The e-Bikes have a range of up to 60 km and make a lovely day’s adventure with a picnic. This is a secluded location, the only noise that can be heard are the birds and breeze. Occasional on a Saturday night music can be heard from Lupiac’s lake restaurant and bar 3 km away.
