This room is located in a historical Farmhouse in Tuscany - Lucca - Vorno. Nestling in 50 acres of olive groves, pine clad hills and gardens, Casa Una is a large and sympathetically restored 18thC farmhouse in the grounds of Villa Michaela. Previously known as Villa Nottolini the Villa is well known for private and corporate rental and events, signature weddings, wellness retreats and as an unforgettable Tuscan getaway. Outside Casa Una has a private terrace and huge lawn with garden with pizza oven and wonderful views of the Tuscan hills and the Appuan Alps. Casa Una also has shared access to the tennis court and swimming pool of the main Villa, and proficient musicians are welcome to play the grand piano in our chapel. Also perfect place for remote working: safe, with good internet and lots of space. Our structure counts with 2 houses, the main Villa with 12 rooms and the farmhouse with 5 rooms. - Labeled rooms at the Villa: Puccini, Nottolini, Girasole, Limonaia, Camelia, Verdi, Dante, Azzurra, Fiori, Napoleone, Zano and Garfagnana. - Labeled rooms at the Farmhouse: Loxton, Hambledon, Paarl, Wellington and Hugo. You will be able to use the tennis court and the pool as you wish, but this might be shared with other guests. Pool towels are provided. Villa Michaela (where Casa Una is located) is privately owned by the Rhode family who are based largely in the UK. The Villa has been in the Rhode family for over three decades. The family frequently visit the property and love meeting the guests who arrive from all over the world to enjoy old world charm and family vibe that Villa Michaela emanates. Vorno is a celebrated Village in the Lucchesia well known for its exquisite water and its welcome down draughts off the hills in the hot summer months. There are many well known Villas built centuries ago by Lucchese aristocrats wishing to scape the intense heat of summer with no trough traffic. The Villa Michaela estate is situated directly on the Via Francigena, the centuries old pilgrims route running from Canterbury to Rome. As a result there is amazing hiking direct from the house. The other great claim to fame of our Village is its strong affiliation to the invention of the internal combustion engine (motore a scoppio) by two Vorno residents Barsanti and Matteucci. We are also very fortunate to have a wonderful family owned trattoria A Bimbotto within five minutes walk. With a huge garden traditional Tuscan fare abounds with Nicola, the owner, grandmother's recipes and the best pizza ever known. We have a private parking in front of our property. We are based in center of Vorno, just next to the famous parish church, local trattorias, and a touristic center with a bar. We are 10 minutes drive from center of Lucca and 25min away from Pisa and the beach. There is also a public bus service going to Lucca. You can reach Florence in 1 hour and Versilia in 40 min, Siena and Cinqueterre are also close enough for a day trip. Parking for 40 cars across the road in Villa car park. Free fast fibre optic WI-FI.
