Twin Creek Cottage - a forest-lover's paradise.
Twin Creek Cottage- a secluded forest retreat.
Come stay at Twin Creeks Cottage! This peaceful paradise is a 1920s cottage is set in a magical garden and secluded amongst the forest of Scotchman's Creek gully. With wild forest as your nearest neighbour, and views down to the valley and onto Mt Donna Buang, you'll feel like you have the whole valley to yourself. Cafes and shops are still an easy walk or bike ride away. The House: The cottage is a pretty, sun-flooded space with a combination of historic character, huge windows and all the mod cons. It consists of a living room, three bedrooms (with beds for up to 6), a secluded sitting room with a fold-out double bed, a kitchen and bathroom. The master bedroom (with ensuite) has floor-ceiling windows facing the forest and mountain, so you can commune with nature without getting out of bed! There is plenty of space to socialise; a living room with an open fire and panoramic mountain views, a full kitchen, an indoor dining room and an outdoor deck (with dining table and BBQ) where you can sit back and watch the weather change on the mountain. The Garden: The house is set in a stunning garden surrounded by two mountain creeks. This paradise full of fruit trees and a vast variety of flowers, snaking paths and secret statues is an adventure for kids and adults alike! The garden is also full of wildlife from the nearby forest: as well as the choir of kookaburras, you'll hear the call of deer at the creek, see wombats shuffling in the undergrowth and meet the lorikeets that come to perch on the deck at dusk. You'll have exclusive access to the whole property for the length of your stay. The area: Scotchmans creek gully is a quiet valley, walking distance to Warburton's shops and cafes, but sheltered from the hustle and bustle of the town and perfect for people that want to be in the middle of the forest. The area is famous for biking and bushwalking. The Lilydale-Warburton Bike track passes past the end of the street, and the 'Backstairs Track' hike up Mt. Little Joe leaves basically from your doorstep. Beautiful Yarra river is also an easy walk down the road. Other things to note: Most times we are flexible with check-in/out times. Please let us know if you would like to arrive earlier/depart later. We have 2 toboggans and 4 adult bikes that our guests are welcome to use (bring your own helmets). We do our best to maintain the bikes, but can not guarantee they are always in a good nick as we are not always able to check on them between the guests.
