Escape to the Adelaide Hills while being so near to the city! Discover our newly renovated 1880 Pear Farm transformed into a gorgeous modern Adelaide hills get away. We love to entertain and the space we have created reflects our passion for gathering with family and friends, eating good food and drinking fine wine. You can use the house as a retreat from the world or a great base to explore the famous Adelaide hills. The house is a perfect combination of old meets new, the 1880's rustic stone cottage is cute and cosy while the new extension is hip and modern. The house has six bedrooms, all individually styled with crisp laundered Sheridan linen and fluffy towels. The master suite comes with a king sized bed and en-suite bathroom with a huge stone bath, with views across the valley. This bathroom also has a built in sauna, that is fantastic to use on a cold wintery day. There are two further bathrooms, each with walk in showers for easy access and one with a huge pink bath! There are two living rooms, each with large wood fires so you can get cosy in the evening, a large dining room with stunning views across the valley and a brand-new kitchen with all the mod-cons ready to cook up a feast! I provide a welcome basket of food to get the holiday started - wine, chocolate, cereal, milk, juice, coffee, tea, local jam, honey, olive oil, pasta and passata. There is a gorgeous outdoor deck overlooking the valley and smaller secluded courtyard where you can enjoy dinner and a glass of wine or keep warm during the cool nights with the outdoor fire. The property hosts an abundance of flora and fauna, with a resident mob of kangaroos as well as local koalas plus countless parrots and birds. Much of the land is currently being sensitively re-vegetated with indigenous South Australian plants which you are welcome to explore. This home comes with top of the range appliances, dishwasher, fridge, smeg oven, miele washing machine & dryer, Smart TV with Netflix. This house is perfect for family gatherings and it is an absolute pleasure if the bride to be wants to get ready with her bridesmaids and leave from the house. Please note, currently there are no events or larger gatherings/parties allowed at the house due to the current COVID restrictions. Sorry for any inconvenience. The guests have access to the full 7 acres. Happy to answer any questions and queries and offer assistance where needed. Upper Sturt is a stunning valley nestled in the iconic Adelaide hills region. It is only 20 minutes from Adelaide CBD, 6 minutes from Mount Lofty House and the botanical gardens, 15 minutes from Belair National Park, 6 minutes from the historic village of Stirling and only 3 minutes from the world class Crafers Pub with food and wine to die for! The best way to get around the Adelaide Hills is by car. However, there are some fantastic nearby walking trails with Belair national park on our doorstep. Please bring warm clothes, the Adelaide Hills can get chilly in the evenings even during the summer months. Please teach young children about snakes, make sure you make lots of noise and wear closed shoes while exploring the property during the hot summer months.
