Cottage in the beautiful Ariege countryside

Please note: only available for weekly bookings, with check-in on Saturday. Les Tournesols (the sunflowers), is a 19th century home located in the lush countryside of the beautiful Ariege. It consists of a main house and an attached gite/cottage. At the moment only the gite/cottage is for rent, but the main house will never be occupied during your stay, giving you plenty of privacy to enjoy the beautiful garden and heated swimming pool. The gite which is attached to the right side of the house, is self sufficient with 2 bedrooms, a kitchen and 2 ensuite bathrooms. There is central heating throughout the cottage. It has a private, sunny terrace attached, with tables chairs and sunloungers. The main garden has a heated swimming pool (open June-Sep, weather conditions permitting). At this moment only the gite is for rent. the in-and outcheck dates are on Saturday. While you are staying in the gite, there will be nobody in the main house, giving you complete privacy of the garden and pool. Our care takers will provide you with the keys, information about the gite and pool. After receving your reservation and payment I will provide you with their mail en telephone number The estate located close to Lavelanet (15min walking/short drive) which has supermarkets, boulangeries, post office, banks and a fresh food market every Friday. Les Tournesols is located in the middle of Cathare country, with it's unique history and historic buildings (e.g. Montsegur). The location at the foot of the Pyrenees mountains provides lots of possibilities for outdoor activities, e.g. (electric) cycling, walking, climbing. Other nearby sights encompass: - vineyards at Limoux and nearby carcasonne - Lake Montbel: is a short 30 min drive, and provides facilities for kayaking, sailing and fishing - Mirepoix and Foix: famous Ariege medieval cities - Monts d'Olmes: with ski pistes, altitude (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) minutes drive - Andorra, 114 km, 2 hour scenic drive - Saint Lizier: white water rafting, 70 min drive - Carcasonne is 65 km away - Toulouse 90km - Narbonne and Perpignan beach are a 1.5 hours drive. If you have a navigator, type in: Chemin de la Coume 36 at Lavelanet and you should be able to find it. If you experience difficulties in finding, please contact our care takers There is a heated, covered pool in the garden with a depth of approximately 120 cm. No steep slopes. The cover complies with French safety regulations. However, never leave your children unattende in the vicinity of the pool. Please cover the pool during your absence and at night
