The large back garden is private, quiet and fully enclosed. A safe place for young children to play and for Dogs to run around and be contained. Overlooks the delightful well maintained sub tropical gardens and ocean beyond. Fan, built in robe and dressing table. Bedroom 3. Lovely bedroom with solid timber queen bedroom suite, fan and built in robe. Bedroom 4. A large bedroom/rumpus room with 2 sets of single bunk beds (sleeps 4), ceiling fan, built in robe, small sofa, Smart TV, Xbox 360 & games and loads of boardgames too! Kids will love sleepovers in this room. Maximum number of guests 9. We also have a travel cot available in our home, along with kids toys, books, games and colouring in. Family bathroom with shower and bath. Powder room with additional toilet and sink. Carport plus parking for a further vehicle. Laundry with washing machine, dryer, and laundry sink. Bed linen, towels and tea towels provided, also basics like Soap, Toilet roll, shampoo, bin liners, paper towel and we also have a stash of old towels you are welcome to use for the beach/swimming etc, we just ask that you wash, dry and return them before you leave. Just bring food & clothes! why wait.... It's a private waterfront paradise awaiting you! You will have full access to all areas of the house, carport, gardens and waterfront. We live on the mainland and use this wonderful property as our holiday home. My son in law does all the regular maintenance on the property but if you have any problems just phone me and I will get help for you from local professionals, tradies or neighbours, whichever is appropriate. I love the piece and quiet on the island. The roads are not busy and walking/running/jogging/cycling is simple with pavements along all roadways. You can walk from our property down to the Yacht Squadron at the point of the island. Or just across the road to Pinnacle Farm Park for some ridding lessons. You can have endless fun with a boat, jet-ski or dingy as the island is accessible from the water at hundreds of ramps and beaches around the island so you can potter around the mangroves, strike out for the open sea or fish from your boat. Find out how to catch a local crab or two. Head over to Straddie for the surf beaches and whale watching. Take a swim at the Russell School pool which is open to the public, or rent the tennis court and equipment. A sailing and kayak club has recently opened at the southern part of the island at Sandy Beach. Call in at the community centre on Jackson and check out the op-shop for a surprisingly wide selection of clothing, crockery and general bric-a-brac. Check out Aunty Alice's for the great value daily specials and the big, all-day breakfast. I love their egg and bacon roll for breakfast as it come with a smiley face!! The RSL and the Bowl's club are a must for food and drink. Billy's Bistro on Anzac Drive serves a variety of staple dishes including ubiquitous fish and chips! If you are feeling more adventurous then you can get in the car and visit the attraction on the Gold Coast such as the many theme parks, Natural wonders such as The Natural Arch, O'Reilly's and Mount Warning. Visit Surfers Paradise, Brisbane or Mount Tambourine. The list is endless. The island has good economical car and bike hire to help you get around or you can bring your own car on the ferry and have it on the island with you. There is an island taxi service, plus you can leave your car at Redland Bay and catch the ferry over to Russell then either walk to my house if you don't have a lot of bags or take a taxi. It's not expensive. The car and passenger ferry from Redland Bay Marina on the mainland leaves approx. every half hour. Once you have purchased your ticket further travel between the islands of Russell, Lamb, Macleay and Karragarra is free as a foot passenger for the duration of your stay. This gives you the opportunity to explore each of these unique sub tropical islands at your leisure. We love to go for a meal to the RSL on Macleay Island. The island is 8 kilometres by 3 kilometres in size. It only takes 15 minutes to drive from top to bottom! Everything is within easy reach. Also included at our home...
