Renovated (dog friendly) Grade II listed cottage, with a traditional feel. It sleeps up to 3/4 with two bedrooms. Situated just a short drive to the picturesque, medieval village of Lavenham with its historic buildings, restaurants, pubs and quaint village shops and 5 mins drive to Sudbury and Long Melford . Village pub seconds walk away! Enjoy comfortable surroundings with wood-burning stove for cosy evenings in the winter and secluded south facing garden perfect for summer dining. Lovely Grade II listed cottage situated in a quiet lane in Acton. Upstairs there are two bedrooms, one with a standard double bed and one with small double (Please note the stairs are narrow so may not suit anyone with mobility issues). Downstairs bathroom with shower and WC and ensuite toilet also upstairs. Good size living room with log burner and kitchen with Aga. There is no separate dining room but an oak sidetable in the living room opens up to a full size dining table. In the summer months and for those not wishing to use the Aga there is a microwave and two stove hob as well as BBQ in the garden . Full wifi. Lovely south facing garden. Lavenham is a 5 minute drive but if you do not wish to drive The Crown pub is a 2 min walk away which serves a wide pub menu and a there is a village shop for every day needs including a good selection of wines and beers. Perfect romantic retreat straight out of the film, The Holiday, for a couple or ideal for family of 3/4. There is parking for one small car outside the cottage otherwise there is plenty of on-street parking a few seconds walk away. Guests have access to the whole property. Please feel free to email or call me with any queries you have Acton is a peaceful quintessential village with a good local pub which serves a varied pub food menu with a pool table and dart board. The cricket green is next to the pub and Acton also has a very useful village shop for groceries/alcohol. If you have a dog to walk head to the pub and you will see a lane to the left of this which will take you up past the church and to fields beyond. Great walking and cycling in the area as well as a bus stop a couple of mins walk away to serve Sudbury and Lavenham. When the weather is hot I will turn the Aga (which is the main cooking facility down) as it makes the cottage too hot and rely instead on an electric 2 stove hob, microwave and bbq. You will still be able to turn the Aga up but it takes several hours for this to reach full heat. Due to space restrictions the only freezer is a small one above the roomy fridge but adequate for keeping a couple of bags of frozen food. The stairs are a little narrow and steep so may not suit those with mobility issues. If you want to use the fold out dining table please use the folding chairs provided. Travel cot and highchair provided if requested. Well behaved dogs are welcome as long as they do not get on the furniture.
