The accomodation of Windaboo is set on a ridge, surrounded by a magical mix of remnant rainforest, green hills, palm groves and is home to native fauna and flora as well as our incredibly spoilt equine kids, goats, baby bulls and goats. Windaboo is a working farm situated around 30 mins from Byron, 40 mins to Ballina Airport, 60 minutes to Coolangatta Airport. The accommodation on offer consists of 3 separate dwellings; The Cottage, The Bunk House and The Mezz. We also have glamping available. Windaboo is a stunning, whimsical, truly lovely beastie with old established gardens brimming with romance & charm. Beautifully setup to create and host intimate retreats, wedding accomodation & holidays for extended families & the like. We consider the main entertainment hub of Windaboo to be our beautiful Old Dairy Bales with terraced gardens, accentuated by a stunning line of eucs & direct access to a 1200sqm flat grass area for lawn games, tent set up or horse arena. The Bales is equipped with a pizza oven and fire pit (permits required for operation) & has stunning views over the home paddock, up Windaboo mountain & beyond. The Cottage.... a beautifully restored weatherboard cottage in a storybook setting. White paneling and a tin roof create a rustic and airy feel. Showcasing stunning modern artwork by local artist, Imbi Davidson and eclectic furnishings add intrigue and warmth. Settle in for drinks on the verandahs, explore Windaboos glorious grounds, meet the menagerie (horses, goats, chooks, baby bulls) or take the track to the swimming hole. The Bunkhouse..... smothered in natural light given it's northerly aspect, multiple sliding glass doors and windows. It has polished concrete floors throughout to compliment a mix of modern and antique rugs, artwork by our favourite local artist, Imbi Davidson & eclectic pieces. It is comprised of 2 bedrooms, one with ensuite and an open plan living, dining, kitchen area & a separate bathrooms. Bedrooms can be configured with king beds that can be configured to 4 long singles or a combo of both!! The larger bedroom has a new sofa bed and we also have blow up mattresses available for extra guests. . The Mezz.... is a lofty, airy, light beastie that has polished concrete floors on the lower level where you can see the exposed beams supporting the recycled timber floors on the upper lever. The living area has a soaring double height ceiling above adorned with one big-arse fan to keep the entire space cool in the summer months. Upstairs, there are two loft-style bedrooms with raked ceilings at the rear- the main bedroom overlooks the living room and has stunning view over the old dairy bales, our bromeliad garden and beyond.... The second bedroom, a tad tight on space but great for sleeping in!! The bathroom has been fully renovated and includes a bath. The Mezz is located near one of the main working hubs of Windaboo but we are always respectful of our guests privacy. Across the board... Luxury linen is provided as are tea, coffee and basic essentials for cooking (oil, vinegar, S + P; the things people forget to bring :)). Entertainment wise- Netflix, DVD players & high-speed internet access is included in rate as well as use of one or all three of our Ziegler and Brown Barbeques and our woodfire pizza oven (both by request). Guests are welcome to join us at feed time of our beautiful menagerie or go wandering the grounds of Windaboo including a walk up Mount Windaboo or down the tracks, including one down to our private swimming hole. Guests can have as much interaction with us or as much privacy as they choose!
