Cosy Cottage in Forest of Dean
Description This is 1 of 2 rooms that I have available for guests within my home. Stay at a quiet cottage in the beautiful, idyllic and atmospheric Royal Forest of Dean in Gloucestershire. Parts of the cottage date back to the 1800’s and it is perfectly situated for walking the forest trails, keen cyclists and visiting the nearby village of Coleford for essential provisions. Several country pubs are also just a short walk away. The stunning, tree-lined sunrises in our garden are free! The space The room is cosy and clean and offers a double bed; although the room will sleep three people. We have a large garden and our Guests are welcome to pick, prepare and cook home grown vegetables, in season, using a large shared kitchen. The bathroom and living room are also shared and the toastie log burner provides character and warmth on winter evenings. Whenever the weather is fine, you may want to relax on the garden deck and possibly fire up the BBQ. We also have safe storage for bikes, a utility room, drying space and adjacent off-road parking. Interaction with Guests The owner has an extensive knowledge of local trails, towns, attractions and activities. You can also take advantage of holistic therapies at home and nearby outdoor activities for adults and children, available through the owner with a 10% discount if staying. “ We can be sociable or give you personal space, just as the holiday mood takes you! Dogs are welcome too ”. Other things to note Ask about what you would find in beautiful border towns such as Monmouth, Chepstow - and Symonds Yat on the River Wye. The cities of Gloucester and Cardiff are not too far away for a day. Bedroom Shared Living Room Shared Kitchen Shared bathroom Continental breakfast is supplied as well as tea and coffee. I am in and out a lot during the day time especially during the summer months due to the outdoor activity business, but generally around in the early mornings and evenings for any questions you may have. There will also be information of what to do and where to go in room for some light reading Woodland walks and some attractions within walking distance or short drive away. Public houses that offers good food and locally sourced as much as possible, Coleford is short walk if you want cafe, Chinese or Indian take-away (some offer a delivery) chippies, and shopping essentials. Gloucester is approx 45min drive away with Bristol and Cardiff around and hour drive There are local bus services close by with main train station at Gloucester and smaller station at Lydney which is approx 15 min drive away where you get the train either to Gloucester, Bristol or Cardiff. Plenty or walks in the Forest of Dean that are within walking distance from the cottage I know have 2 rooms available therefore there may be other guests staying at the same time as you please check. If you are looking to book for 4 - 5 people in group please check to see if my other room is available on the dates you require. Cosy Cottage Forest of Dean & Wye Valley COVID RULES - You will be required to wear face covering while walking through the living room area as this is also my home. There will also be no use/access to the kitchen area for this reason. There will be tea making facilities and microwave in the room. Once one room is booked the other one will not be booked unless your group wants to book both rooms this will then allow for your use only of the bathroom during your stay. Please message me before booking if you are looking to bring your dog with you, and let me know if they get on with other people and dogs as there may be other guests staying and I sometimes have my son's dog to stay.
