A great location to visit the world famous Hamsterley forest, fantastic for walking or cyclists or head into Teesdale for a day walking the Teesdale way, visiting our local village pubs and take a trip up to High force to revel in the wonder of one of the most impressive waterfalls in England. The River Tees has been plunging into this gorge for thousands of years but the rocks it reveals are far more ancient – with origins dating back over 300 million years!
