Acorn Cottage, Ingleton is a warm cosy 3 bedroomed holiday cottage sleeping up to 5 people. It is in a central but peaceful location in the picturesque village of Ingleton, in a quiet cul-de-sac. It has private parking for up to 2 cars. Ingleton is located in the scenic Three Peaks area of the Yorkshire Dales which is near the stunning Ribblehead Viaduct on the Settle to Carlisle railway and within easy reach of the Lake District (40 mins), the Trough of Bowland & the Howgills. The cottage has a large beamed lounge with patio doors and a view of Ingleborough (one of the Three Peaks) from the main bedroom. It comprises: - 1 double - 1 twin - 1 single room - a decent sized dining kitchen with washing machine/microwave - a large lounge with French doors to the patio and living flame gas fire. It is a 5 minutes walk from the famous Waterfalls Walk – cascading rivers in beautiful ancient woodland. The cottage enjoys unlimited superfast/internet.wi-fi. It has a new smart tv (not the one shown in the photos.) Ingleton village offers a variety of shops (including a multi-award winning bakery), cafes, pubs as well as a seasonal (end May till end Aug) heated open air swimming pool and renowned climbing wall. It has secure storage & facilities for bikes and other outdoor gear. Acorn Cottage is very well placed for accessible Winter breaks. It is in a small cul-de-sac directly off the main Ingleton village road which is always cleared of (rare) snow promptly. The main Ingleton road itself is directly off the A65 trunk road (about 1/2 mile from the cottage), this is always kept clear. I'm sorry we don't take any pets. Entire house with garage storage if required. The hosts live nearby and are normally available & pleased to assist with queries & recommendations. As well as being surrounded by lovely walking country and villages, Ingleton is conveniently located in between the quaint market towns of Kirkby Lonsdale, Settle & Hawes. For children, Ingleton has a lovely large village playground by the river walk and an open-air swimming pool (normally open end of May till beg. Sept). There are so many interesting places locally that you may need a 2nd visit! Here are some of our favourites: Ingleton Waterfalls Walk Settle to Carlisle Railway Walk up through Nature Trail to Ingleborough Cave at Clapham The Hoffman Kiln near Settle Days out at Kirkby Lonsdale and Hawes including its famous Wensleydale Creamery Austwick to Feizor circular walk via Oxenber Wood and Feizor Cafe. Sizergh Castle Wild Play Trail(for younger children) Acorn Cottage has been a holiday cottage for 10 years and has had many repeat visitors. The price includes gas & electric, linen, towels and unlimited wifi. Pottery courses can also be arranged (with advance notice) at the owner's local pottery, Bentham Pottery, which is renowned for its teaching of both complete beginners and more experienced throwers.
