The farm covers about 16 hectares of hills surrounding the ancient Villa Torre Alberghieri, including the park, the holiday accommodation, the winery and the shed for agricultural machines. With great passion we cultivate our 3,5 hectares of vineyards, 2 hectares of olive groves, 3 hectares of seminative and manage 6 hectares of wood. The vinification of all our grapes takes place in our cellars, where we produce different excellent types of Chianti Classico red wines with which we welcome our guests on arrival. Our extra-virgin olive oil is equally precious to our wines. The ‘via Chiantigiana’ Is one of the most enjoyable motoring routes in Italy. It runs directly south from Florence to Siena through the middle of the Chianti Classico wine zone of Tuscany, one of the most instantly recognisable landscapes in the world. After passing Ugolino Golf Course, the oldest golf club in Italy, the Chiantigiana runs upward and follows the ridges between the Val d'Elsa and the Valdarno, wandering from one farmhouse and villa to another, from time to time passing through villages and small towns. These include Strada in Chianti, Greve in Chianti, Panzano in Chianti, Castellina in Chianti. The towns of Impruneta, Lamole, Volpaia and Radda in Chianti are just a short distance along side roads from the via Chiantigiana and can be visited by following the network of secondary roads that link them together. Other short diversions take the visitor through beautiful hillscapes to Montefioralle and Badia a Passignano to the west, and to Gaiole in Chianti and Badia a Coltibuono to the east. The area around Gaiole in Chianti is particularly rich in castles and chapels including the castles of Vertine, Meleto, Barbischio and Brolio. The castles area can be toured by turning off the Via Chiantigiana at Castellina and heading through Gaiole, exploring the back roads and then continuing on to Castelnuovo Berardenga. Impruneta and Strada in Chianti are regularly served by daily buses towards Florence: SITA and Autolinee Chianti and Valdarno. Built on three hills and surrounded by well preserved walls, Siena is filled with fine examples of Gothic architecture and has one of the world’s most unique piazzas ‘Piazza del Campo’. The world-famous Palio of Siena is an important part of Sienese identity, history and culture. We suggest to visit also Bagno Vignoni (free spa) or Borgo di Monteriggioni (Porta del Medioevo), both only a few km away from Siena. San Gimignano San Gimignano and its famous towers, thanks to their location, domain the beautiful Val D’Elsa hill. Site of an Etruscan village during the Hellenistic period, San Gimignano is one of the most important artistic place in the world. We suggest a daily trip San Gimignano - Volterra (going via Cassia; return SGC Fi-Pi-Li). Lucca Beautiful and very nice, Lucca is a most visited and famous place in Tuscany. The city is limited in 4 km of walls and they are the symbol of Lucca. Etruscans were and remain famous for their great ability in working with gold and thus is it no coincidence that Arezzo today is one of the major centers for jewelry and goldsmith craftsmanship in Italy. Pisa The city of Pisa rises above the banks of Arno, just before the mouth of the river at Marina of Pisa. It is one of the most important cities in Tuscany and it is extremely well-known in the world, because of its famous symbol: the leaning tower, known as Pisa Tower. San Miniato San Miniato is a district in the Pisa province. The old town is located on a strategic position, on a beautiful hill near Arno, halfway between Florence and Pisa; San Miniato was land wars between this two cities. Place of dioceses, San Miniato is a important economic and industrial center of the leather and it is famous for its white truffles. The original city core dates back to the seventh century. The region of Crete Senesi A unique and wonderful landscape with rolling hills planted with wheat, its ravines, its ancient villages and the magnificent Abbey of Monte Oliveto Maggiore. The region of Val d’Orcia With its breathtaking landscapes of perfect beauty, following a circular itinerary of 150 km, you can visit medieval Montalcino with its wineries, the spiritual centre of Abbazia di Sant’Antimo, the papal town of Pienza, the capital of Tuscan pecorino, and the Renaissance town of Montepulciano (the pearl of the sixteenth century) where you can taste the typical ‘pici’, a type of pasta made to an original local recipe. The region of Val d'Elsa With a wonderful day out, following a round trip of 150 km, you can visit the medieval fortress of Monteriggioni, Colle Val'Elsa, the town of crystal, the superb Etruscan town of Volterra, and San Gimignano, with its medieval towers, is registered in Unesco’s World and Cultural Heritage. In winter for ski-lovers but there are plenty of activities during all other seasons as well. Abetone Gravity Park – a large park dedicated to mountain biking lovers. Fans of ‘Downhill’ and ‘Freeride’ will find here even five different trails of 6 km in length. Meanwhile, a ‘Cross Country’ trail with various levels stretches for about 30 km. It is located in a beautiful position in Val di Merse only 35 km south of Siena.
