Coombe Farm, B&B, Akaroa, Banks Peninsula
Recommended by lonely planet. 5 star trip advisor. We are a working farm, nestled in the Takamatua Valley only minutes by car from historic Akaroa with its harbour cruises, restaurants and cafes and many walking tracks. The farmhouse sits in a large organic garden with verandas to relax on. Beautiful views from upstairs bedroom. Private lounge with books, DVDs and sky tv. A delicious breakfast awaits. Good size bedroom with kingsize bed and shower en-suite. lovely bed linen, feather quilts and pillows. Bed room situated upstairs in farmhouse. Private sitting room for guest downstairs with log burner, sky tv, DVDs and many books. I have an extra room with queen bed and separate private bathroom if required at extra cost. Access is at the front of the house. There is a private sitting room. The bedroom is upstairs. Breakfast in the farmhouse kitchen. Water is from our own spring. we have been hosting guests now for 6 years and love sharing our house and garden with them. We have a great walk (20 mins) up to a waterfall and many areas in the garden to relax. Breakfast is saved in the farmhouse kitchen. There is space in the fridge for guests to store personal items but unfortunately i do not offer up my kitchen for guests to cook in. Takamatua is a quiet rural neighborhood. Many artists live and work here. We have an olive farm, organic veg and flower growers, salmon smoker as well as many farmers. We are 7 minutes by car from Akaroa. i am always happy to drop people in to the restaurants and pick up in the evening. A bus provides a service to Akaroa from Christchurch and i am also happy to pick up from here I have plenty of books, guides etc on the area and am happy to make a packed lunch for a small fee. we are a working farm and sometimes but not all the time my husband is happy to show guests around. I offer afternoon tea on arrival or a cold …..
