Cosy 3 bedroomed cottage in the centre of Orton Village, ideally located for a family stay, romantic retreat or relaxing getaway, on the borders of the Yorkshire Dales and Lake District National Park. Orton village offers a great local pub, Chocolate factory, cafe and shop/post office and a playground for the younger generation. We are on the C2C walk, W2W & lakes and dales cycle loop, great for a one night stop over if you traveling from the south of England to Scotland. Free Wifi We provide a high chair, a travel cot but would need own bedding etc for cot, there are also dressing gowns & complimentary towels. Free WiFi in the cottage. Your have access to the whole house and back yard area We live in the village of Orton, I try and pop around to see any guests on there first night, just introduce myself and make sure the cottage is alright and no problems, and my contact details are in the cottage if you need to contact us. We are happy to be contacted about anything that you might need to ask or want while you are staying in the cottage. There is a local pub, (The George Hotel) Kennedys Chocolate factory, if you would like to surprise someone special with some chocolates I can organise these on your arrival, they need to be pre-ordered in advance . A village store, cafe & play park all within 3 minutes walk from the cottage. There is a farmers Market 2nd Sat of every month 9.30am to 2pm selling fresh local produce and crafts. We are in the Westmorland Dales National Park which also borders onto the Lake District National Park all with in an easy drive of some very wonderful and stunning lakes and mountain views. You will need a car to best enjoy the surrounding areas, there is a limited bus service to and from Kendal / Penrith via Orton. Train stations are 16 miles away (oxenholme or Penrith) we have lots of walks, we are on the coast to coast walk, also cycle routes w2w and lakes and dales loop. To access the property there is a key safe box, the code will be given once payment has been paid.
